Unless you have the idea that you just nerf the higher ranks exp/sp, then people cry, and level sync becomes worthless except for those few die-hards that want to help their friends.

    Here's the LOW DOWN: LEVEL SYNC WILL NOT WORK IN THIS GAME, it is not a mob grind game.
    Umm no actually.

    1 - You need a R1 to sync with and at that rate of SP gain you would run out of R1 to sync with very quicky.

    2 - Do you honestly think the "Bonus" that the lower ranks get would transfer over to a R40 synced down to R1? No it wouldn't because that would be stupid. You would just get the normal mob SP at that rank without the huge bonus.

    3 - Even in FFXI you could not sync below level 10 and I imagine it would be no different here, maybe even R20 because of how fast you can get to it.

    4 - Yes the gear does have scaling especially on Weapons in most cases equipping a weapon even 1 rank below the optimal makes it worse than the weapon previous to it.

    5 - SE are adding Rank and Class specific gear because people want it so that they can have a sense of achievement when they can wear it. Currently being able to wear anything on any class at any time removes that sense of achievement completely.

    6 - Your solution of being cursed for 6 hours in order to level sync is a ridiculous time sync and completely pointless. You should not be penalised for wanting to group up with people. Games don't need to be realistic they need to be fun, yes I agree realistic can help make it fun but adding a penalty to someone who wants to have fun in a group is silly. They should not have to worry about a "realistic" curse effecting their character for 6 hours just because they want to play with other people in an MMO.

    7 - If it is not a "mob grind game" then that is all the more reason why level sync would have absolutely no effect on anyone who didn't like it. If the minimum sync was R20 then how could the system be abused? You only do Leve's and Behest to Rank Up pretty much as it is not a "mob grind game". So SP/EXP in Leves all cap out when Mobs are 10+ ranks above your own which you can already control to ensure they do to get max SP/EXP by using the star level so they wouldn't be getting any extra SP/EXP there.

    Overcrowded camps is another good one, well with level sync people will still be doing leve's in the same spots so that won't change and as leve's are semi instanced content it has no effect on you either aside from the lag I guess.

    I am still waiting to hear a good reason why level sync should not be in the game.
