    Unplayable lag at same time each night

    Since Sunday, every night around 1am EST, the game becomes unplayably laggy. This only affects Final Fantasy, and it doesn't seem to be from DDoS attacks since my friends I'm playing with are unaffected. Chat will just randomly not update, people walk around in short bursts while freezing every half-second, dungeons are even worse, and I get much more frequent 90k errors. I've read one recommendation to use a VPN when this occurs but that had no effect. What can I do? I literally cannot play the game when this happens, and I often don't have time to just play during the day instead. It's very frustrating.

    Its getting annoying

    Agreed but for me its been weeks now. Ive even submitted a traceroute report and still nothing has been resolved. Its not my side its with twelve99.net and other backbones closer to the server IPs.

    SAME ISSUES--the VPN I ended up utilizing works for me so perhaps it will work for you. I use Mudfish pay-per-traffic. You can specify FFXIV A Realm Reborn. Not an ad, it just worked for me. Hope it helps.

    I'm hoping to fix this without having to start paying for another service, since money is kind of tight. But if nothing else works, I'll keep this in mind for the future. Thanks!

    I completely empathize. It's absolutely ridiculous to have to pay for a third party service for this issue and no one should have to.


    We're not alone, at least--downdetector.com is showing huge spikes in user reports for server connection issues EVERY NIGHT at around the same time.

    I have temporarily worked around my 90002 error disconnects by trialling the Mudfish.Net service that was mentioned here and in other forums. It seems to route the traffic differently to avoid the problem area on NTT/Square's network. I also seem to get a slightly better ping with Mudfish. It is not ideal though and I am not entirely comfortable about having to use a 3rd party service to play the game.

    I also have the same issue, I'm in the Midwest region in NA and every night, starting about 10/11 PM, the lag starts. Usually, I have around 80 ping and when the lag starts it goes 175 ms in common areas like Limsa and if I queue for a dungeon it becomes unplayable with ping spikes up to 300 ms, my abilities don't work and even the boss frizzes. Most of the time it ends up in "Error" and getting kicked out of the game and back to the little screen. If I try to login it freezes in the transition screen for the map and I get eventually kicked out of the game again.

    To make sure it wasn't my internet I did an internet test:

    -Download 568.2 MB
    -Upload- 35 MB

    ; and a packet loss test which detected no issue.

    This problem only happens in FFXIV and it's pretty frustrating, the internet provider is Spectrum.

    Yea my static had to forego reclears Tuesday night (wednesday morning EST, NH, most of them are mountain or pacific) around 12:30-2 am. Had an issue last night and then tonight when we were trying to prog m3s, it was literally unplayable. It's really fruestrating.

    Ive been having the same issue every night as well for about a week. East Coast NA, Spectrum. Never had an issue before until this week.
