Is it just me, or does it feel like literally every expansion's job gear for White Mage has been the same, consistent red and white frilly and drape-y robe that looks like something that blew up in a knitting factory? What's with all the drapes and frills?? Does the Square-Enix team that produces these items think only female players/characters play White Mage?? Why do they always look horrible and extremely feminine?? Can't we get something neutral or God forbid I dare say it: MASCULINE for a change? Boy that'd be a shock to see... Just venting here because I have copium that someone from the developer side will see this and rethink this aesthetic.
I have been playing since mid-HW back when it was current and I have been disappointed EVERY expansion when it comes to job gear. I love WHM dearly and the idea of being a support class. I'm a dude who plays as a guy character. All I want is something that doesn't look like it's out of a Barbie collection. Jesus Christ, I didn't think it'd be a lot to ask for, but here we are.
Meanwhile jobs like Monk look absolutely amazing on both genders. Don't see why White Mage can't be similar. It's an excuse in my book to hear "Well, it fits the White Mage aesthetic and iconic, classic look." Like no. Be creative!! Be inspiring!! Think outside the box a little.
Dawntrail is coming and I couldn't be more excited for it. But seeing WHM job gear once again be the same old recycled general aesthetic just has me shaking my head. Red and white has been DONE TO DEATH. Frilly robes and gowns have been DONE TO DEATH. Give White Mages something to be excited about!
Once again, I know I'll be instantly casting glamour over this set because it does absolutely nothing for me.![]()
