Apparently removing transphobic dogwhistles is now not wanting to have place for feedback and discussion lmaoThe primary function of the forum is to provide feedback and discuss the game. If those in charge of keeping this place in working order do not actually want that to be the case then they should come out and say it.
They are also a business that is catering to a global audience, so they are inevitably going to encounter many players from completely different countries, cultures and belief systems.
I, myself, have repeatedly called for more engagement from the community representatives as seen here:
https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...epresentatives
Which, in turn, would go a long way towards keeping things civil and constructive.
I dont remember the voice in the trailer plus if it was there, there was no connection on who the voice was for. So yeah people not liking the voice for the character is something that can happen. I found the scenes that she acted in to be horrible, her pitch is fine, but the acting was amateaur at best and the accent (whatever accent she was trying to pull) was god awful. She sounded forced and flat as well as sounding like she couldnt even figure out how and who this character was.For this character and voice being a huge proponent of dawn trail has killed a lot of my enthusiasm for the game.
I have a secret to tell. From my electrical well. It's a simple message and I'm leaving out the whistles and bells. So the room must listen to me Filibuster vigilantly. My name is blue canary one note* spelled l-i-t-e. My story's infinite Like the Longines Symphonette it doesn't rest- TMBG Birdhouse in your Soul
A huge THANK YOU!!!! For FINALLY selling the Meteor Survivor Polo on the store. AND a huge thanks to my friend who bought it for me while he was at Fan Fest!!! YES I finally have my POLO!!!
Hey guys, this is a new thread. Why are some of you still talking about transphobia?
If you don't want these discussion to devolve into another of the deleted threads, stop bringing up the old threads.
That would be exceedingly difficult to prove either way, not in the least due to Square Enix disallowing comments on their uploaded videos and Twitter being prone to echo chambers due to how the algorithms there work.
As I said as much in the previous thread - and speaking as a gay guy myself - one's sexuality or gender identity is not a shield against constructive criticism.
The moderators have proven perfectly capable in the past of removing individual problematic posts whilst leaving the rest of a thread intact. If the criteria for the deletion of a thread is a handful of inappropriate posts, then a lot of otherwise interesting threads would be completely lost.
As a Kentuckian I do want to add people of color do live here, just like for the record.
YMMV, its like a principle of life. I think Sena did a great job with Wuk Lamat, other people don't cool and fine, neither of us is objectively right because there's subjectivity to be had, but "I personally don't like her perfomance" isn't a reason to call for her firing.
And yeah the past threads have been filled with such transphobic dog whistles and outright whistles that nuking the thread from orbit was probably the best option, much as I might prefer to see the threads locked and mods call the behavior out.
i wish ppl would shut up about this, its not even fair on her. her voice is no better or worse than any other side character and this is just complaint of the week
commentsd like this are just going to keep rubbing others the wrong way. shes literally just using her own normal voice for the role she was picked for. im so sick of seeing her attacked like thisher direction in EN specifically comes off as an offensive caricature,

please, i've asked in the other thread that you explain what you mean by quality and to expound upon it. just saying:
tells me nothing about the performance other than your perception. if you are going to talk about quality, one would expect you bring up actual things related to quality in voices: timbre, resonance, pitch, tone, intonation etcstiff barely expressive
what qualities do you believe are good for this game and what qualities in the performance dont mesh with that ideal? if you can answer that, then we are actually talking about the topic of your thread you made
no matter where you go, there you are -b.b.
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. Her acting was fine. The character is written in the "trying too hard to be quirky" kind of way, and that's not great. Then again, Emet-Selch's first cutscene also felt very "ooh look how crAaAaaAAzy this guy is!" and that turned out better than fine in the end.
If someone wins an argument, they have learned nothing.
FOR DOCKHAND!
I've been paying for almost 14 years and I thought she was fine. I don't think length of time as a paying customer matters lol.
Also, I can say that most of the "feedback" in the previous two threads was not genuine.
I'd like to point out that we've learned that Erenville grew up with her, and yet I haven't seen a single person complain about them having an Icelandic? accent while being from the new world. Not one person.![]()
Any actor/VA/entertainer should be ready to receive criticism. It comes with the job. She's not exempt to it.
We're critiquing her work, not her as an individual.
I also think you're the last person who should complain about complaints of the week.
