I agree people should vote with there wallet and quietly leave rather then continue giving money to a game and company they clearly hate expecting giving them money will make them make the changes they want. It took a mass exodus from wow for Blizzard to finally make the changes people wanted and from what I hear wow is in a decent spot right now.Heres the thing. I dont know if people know but its very easy to tell and differentiate between players who give criticism while still enjoy the game and those whom are just spiteful of it.
If somebody goes around constantly making click baity threads like this and garner attention to themselves and the negative aspects of the game. Thats somebody who clearly needs to unsub as what theyre doing is angrily shouting at a building. This was the case with some individuals in the forums such as Aveyond.
Its very obvious and clear that they seek major changes but dont want to commit to their own cause. And this is fine. Not everyone is going to accept the mediocrity that FFXIV provides since they dont take the game that seriously (like most of us here. Some people find parts of the game still enjoyable)
But the problem is that theyre doing this while still being part of the problem by spending money on SE whom are a business and they answer to player subs. It worked with WoW when people finally started voting with their money during Shadowlands and it sure as hell will work here if more people whom are just as disastified with the current game respond the same.

Aaah yes, entertainment.![]()
It also took several streamers to get it going. Xiv community needs sm1 to helm it before they'll commit. Zepla tried and failed. But trust me the day ppl start rioting in servers I'll happily join. It brought major changes on osrs it could bring em hereI agree people should vote with there wallet and quietly leave rather then continue giving money to a game and company they clearly hate expecting giving them money will make them make the changes they want. It wasn't streamers that made ff14 blow up in population or grow considering how boring ff14 streamers are with no personality. FF14 was able to grow pretty well on its own and didn't need the help of streamers averaging 1k viewers or less to bring people in. The only time the game ever blew up on twitch in popularity was when asmongold streamed it for his 2-3 month period that he streamed and once he stopped playing ff14 is back to having 3k or less viewers spread across a handful of people. A game with over a million active daily players and only being able to average less then 3k views a day across a few streamers I don't think it was twitch that built the games playerbase.

Thinking streamers built this games population is hilarious.
I don't like this thread. Here take my engagement
The best solution is to simply make ample use of the ignore function. It's fairly easy to tell who is worth engaging with and who is simply here to cause drama or act in an exceedingly selfish way if you learn to look at pattern recognition.
One thing to remember is that this is the internet and a forum devoted to a ten year old game. As such there's going to be agitators who are incredibly socially awkward, shockingly so. It comes with the territory, unfortunately.
I've encountered a number of posters who treat different personal tastes as something worthy of scorn to the point of seeing an offer to agree to disagree as a personal attack. You're never going to get through to such individuals and they're never going to compromise on anything or avoid demanding that you like or dislike what they wish you to.
So rather than request that those individuals do not engage, you need to be pre-emptive - there's nothing they loathe more than to simply be ignored. This is especially true of the posters who forget that this forum is primarily a place to leave feedback and discuss the game, including elements that they may themselves not be interested in or enjoy.
