PS4 Data Corrupting

I'm a player whose been here for a few years now and only today have I started getting this random corruption. I'm a PS4 player and always play it on my Playstation, never had any issues like this but in my attempt to start the Fall Guy's event with one of my alts, my game randomly corrupted and told me I needed to delete my application. Through multiple deletions, rebuilding data base and even deleting my save to reinstall everything, it is still corrupting and it's the only game that is corrupting, all my other games and applications are fine and working. Is there something going on with this game? Is this a PS4 issue? Has anyone had this problem and solved it? I need help.

That's odd. You may wanna repost this in Technical Support to get the team's attention.

It makes me wonder if it's some kind of physical issue with the PS4 HDD itself, though you've mentioned it's only XIV, so I'm not sure. I haven't seen any report of this before, so for now it seems to be an isolated issue. Did you try deleting the XIV app itself and not just the save file? I'd wipe everything from the PS4 regarding XIV and then give it a try. Hope you can find a solution soon.

I wiped it, rebuilt it, wiped it again and again. And it worked, but the moment I teleported, it just suddenly corrupted again.

Sometimes the settings files can corrupt it (such as macros, HUD Layout, keybinds, hotbar setup, character configuration, system confugration and inventory cache). Did these gets wiped as well? If not, they can actually be the cause of crashes if they are corrupted.

You can also back them up from the character selection menu if you click the gear icon next to your character (backs up character-specific settings) and the one above the character list (backs up system settings that affect you regardless of character).

Is it only happening with the one character or is it happening with all of your characters?

If it's just the one character, then it sounds like one or more of the character specific files is corrupted. Doing any restore of that character's data would reintroduce the corruption.

I'm not familiar with PlayStation so I don't know if there's a way to delete just that one character's files like there is for PC users. As others have said, asking for help in the Technical Support forum is probably the best way to go at this point.

I can't even get pass the character menu anymore. I reinitialized the whole game, wiped it completely clean, all of my games and saves gone, only to go back in, try it and Final corrupted again, the only one corrupting entirely, I've had the same setting for over five years or so and did nothing different from when I usually enter, so I don't know what or why it happened. I can still access and do things with ease with the same settings through PC, but not my PS4.

It started with one, I went to the gold saucer, atttempted to talk to Lewena to pick up the Fall Guys event for one of my alts, and that's when it happened. I couldn't get back to him, and even when I was in, the music would suddenly cut, I'd be frozen and then it would shut down and call corruption. Tried it with a second alt, it did the same. I had to go to my PC to get them out and it worked, so when I fixed things again, I tried my main character, was working fine, until it suddenly snagged via teleportation and now I'm back to square one.

Unfortunately it looks like your storage drive is dying and the only option is to replace it. This game is particularly sensitive to issues with the hardware and will easily throw errors when no other game yet does.
