Legacy (1.0) Character Cannot Use Company Chocobo

I recently started levelling my 1.0 Legacy character for the first time since ARR, but despite having the "My Little Chocobo" quest completed I cannot summon my Company Chocobo and therefore cannot start the "My Feisty Little Chocobo" quest.

I can even rename my chocobo by visiting the NPC in Gridania but I still do not have access to it. The Chocobo Companion window is available as well.

Have you bought Gysahl Greens? They're required to summon the chocobo, and can only be done outside cities/residential areas.

That is required for combat chocobo (and is from the Feisty quest which I cannot even start), but I cannot even summon the chocobo to ride.

If that doesn't correct the issue, as in recovering the Chocobo Whistle from a Calamity Salvager, then also double check that you are trying to summon it correctly:

1. Open the Character sub menu (round Character icon, lower right of screen)
2. Open Mount Guide
3. Access Tab #1
4. Your Company Chocobo will be the first tile, drag that out to a slot on a Hot Bar
5. Click (or button push if using a controller) that Icon to summon your mount

   NOTE: This only works in Open World and Residential areas, you can't summon mounts in city states and in most instanced areas.

I did not consider the Salvager before. That was it. Reclaimed and solved. Thank you!

To clarify: I am not a complete newbie. I know you can't summon mounts in the city. :P I've been playing on and off for the past 10 years on a new character I started because I didn't want to "destroy" the old one. I didn't even know about the Legacy mark for a couple years after ARR.
