Positivity!

People come to these forums to leave feedback, positive or negative on the game for developers to consider. Forum dwellers come in to derail those threads and the result is no useful feedback being left behind.

If you like something about the game, people immiediatly remind you that the game is trash. If you don't like something about the game, people will call you a negative nancy and tell you to "unsub".

The fights on every single thread are the reason they ignore our forums. A lot of people here have the maturity of a child, and take someone disagreeing with them as a personal insult. The forums really needs to be modernized, and we need moderators to do their job. Until then, welcome to the Wild West.

I don't think that's the reason. Even when the forum was less chaotic than it is at present this place was still largely ignored with community representatives posting to introduce themselves and then never showing up again.

This place, despite its flaws, really isn't anywhere near as bad as the likes of reddit or twitter when it comes to voicing feedback. Especially the latter, where it's all too easy to scroll down the comments to official posts and see some highly inappropriate commentary and images or get viciously attacked over simple personal tastes.

Any issues related to chaos due to a lack of moderation is absolutely not the fault of regular forum goers.

It really does seem like people can't make positive threads without having ulterior motives. People don't make these kinds of threads because they like the game, they make them either for damage control (aka suppressing opposing opinions) or to own the 'haters'.

Very valid points, I guess the reason i felt motivated to post was damage control for the forum mods / devs looking. I dont want them to think that "everyone hates their game" or "everything they do is wrong", or "everyone just wants to complain lets ignore all forum feedback". And I wanted to share that there are people who do love the game especially if any sprouts are looking at the forums and feel overwhelmed from said negativity and begin questioning their game of choice. But yeah I should of worded my statements better, it does look like my pro's overright people's cons when it doesn't.

I love FFXIV with all my heart but that doesn't mean I'm going to ignore the things that are wrong with it. You can love a game while also acknowledging its flaws and wanting the game devs to fix things and make the game better. There's a difference between being a hater and being someone who loves something dearly and wants the best for it. Constructive criticism is a good thing.

There are valid reasons why players are unhappy with certain aspects of FFXIV. Nobody has the same experiences. Nobody's opinion and feelings in regards to this override the next person's. Like, I get what you're trying to say but toxic positivity ain't it, chief. I'm sorry.

Also: don't assume what others do in the game. Some of us do all the things, some of us only do certain things. Then there's those of us who experience burnout so they'll do the things that don't require too much from them, or they'll take a much needed break until they feel ready to come back to it. There's no right or wrong way to play the game.

I love this game as much as the next fan, but there are some pretty glaring issues and people can express their dissatisfaction with it. Personally, I am not a huge fan of how the game came its all about the dps and in the process removing a lot of skills and utility across the multiple jobs. BUt that's just me because I like complexity in my jobs. now its 1,2,3, mitigate, OGCD, 1,2,3 essentially in a nutshell. Or how currently you can blast through end game content in a few hours because the scaling is pretty broken. Maybe they will fix it with another number crunch who knows, but trying to bring toxicity positivity and saying other's that disagree are negative people, that's never good and it usually ends up in drama. Just say what you loved about the game, pat the devs on the back virtually and move on. THe same goes with the people expressing the negatives about the game. simple as that.

I didn't say your internet needed removed. You didn't read all my posts. But I guess making sure sprouts / tired forum moderators some positivity / damage control is not a sincere thing and i guess i should be burned at the stake? I still see people mentioning these patches as lack luster with the story and i'm just not seeing it. What it seems like is just general burn out. I mean why is it ok for you to come at me and mock me at first and have all these people just hate on me? Isn't it hypocritical? Even if my thread is "positive toxicity" while other posters threads and comments are just "pure toxicity"?

However for the other people who aren't mocking / insulting, even if you disagree I thank you for debating with respect.

Not surprised this thread ended up like this - and all the usuals are here. Not sure why it matters if once every few weeks people just want to focus on things like like in a game they like. Plenty of places to talk about the opposite.

Every day is a gift. Something many forget in their haste to find what is wrong, rather what is good and enjoyable. You may call it "toxic positivity", Ms Bitter and Cynical, but if thats all you can see, then thats ail you ever deserve to see.
