I guess the reason i felt motivated to post was damage control for the forum mods / devs looking.

It really does seem like people can't make positive threads without having ulterior motives. People don't make these kinds of threads because they like the game, they make them either for damage control (aka suppressing opposing opinions) or to own the 'haters'.
