I've concucted a plan to sabatoge the leechers. What you and your party agrees to do is simple and only requires a small sacrifice.

1) Join the caravan as usual.
2) Let the leech run to the end.
3) Hold the caravan at the very beginning, defending it if need be.
4) 5 minutes or so from the end, everyone abandon the caravan and run back to the Caravan administerrerr.

What this does is cause the leecher to fail without knowing that anyone dropped the caravan. He would have to run back or return back. The time would run out to 15 minutes, leaving the leecher but a few seconds to catch the next one. By then, you and your party would have already signed up and filled the spots.
Justice is then served.

The person did not get the point we were very nice and asked them to leave and they responded with name calling(VERY ADULT LIKE), so we kept halting and sitting.

Contacted a GM and all that was said: Nothing could be done at this time........................

Their are Trolls out there that don't care about the game.. they just join to disturb the runs

Someone just ran off to leech at the end because our party leader was AFK and he couldn't get a party invite right at that very second.
Afterwards we confronted him about it and he just kept repeating "not my problem" "doesn't bother me" "your fault for not inviting me"
And another time I -kindly- asked 2 people to go to another caravan since we had a full group going for a while. They proceeded to harass us for asking them -kindly might I add- and leech on our runs and making some of us sit out.

Please SE make this instanced in 1.23a or 1.23b at least so I can -not- pound my face in every time I log in. Please?

Good and Negative social interactions are part of life, why ask to take that away? Why do people want to control the social aspects of games so rigorously? Your asking for censorship and I don't want that there's jerks everywhere the solution is not just to modify structure so you don't have to play with others... Clearly the only thing se needs to do is make more requirements to be rewarded instead of just intancing it or only allowing a party. I like social content that puts you with strangers

If you could deal with the person/people being ........s it wouldn't be an issue in the way but atm we just have to put up with it, not something that most people do in life.
It's one of the main thing that sucks about fluffy mmos and always sends me back to EvE.

But agreed a few simple fix's like would make it much less rewarding to .
- You cant go X distance from the caravan for over 2mins,
- Most groups of mobs do a AoE that would break follow,
- Auto-group
- Must actively engage with 5% of the mobs.
- 20% the seals are rewarded based you your participation
(based on 40% participation = the full 20%)

Lots of leecher in Abyssea in FFXI as well. They come back once every 20 minutes to cast a Blizzard 6, then afk again. Too many.

You are either a blithering fool, or have never been leeched on. The issue people have here is not one of adult conversations, it is one of some people who abuse a system and refuse to participate in the social event.

Best suggestion I've seen here is when the leech buggers off just dump the caravan and reform/restart. Try to have a full party from the beginning and avoid them joining the party. It may take you a bit longer to do, but eventually the fool leeching will either get annoyed and leave or you'll get good runs without him.

Hopefully the Reps have read this enough times to report the issue up the chain and they patch this in 1.23. However, what is more likely is that the code is to difficult to integrate with the other systems currently in the game so they are going to wait for 2.0. So buck up, and take some of the suggested ways to ruin the leech's day more than he ruins yours.

SE has acknowledged this problem, but they've said they won't/can't patch it until 2.0. My take on it is that they would have to make a significant change to how caravans are implemented to fix the issue, and they don't want to delay 1.23 at this point by doing any large reprogramming. Hopefully, they can surprise us anyway with a hotfix.
