[Feature Request] Legacy movement - Left click "hold" to only turn camera

It would be really nice to have the camera move on the left mouse button rather than the character since the right button already does that. it's the only thing im missing from the standard movement setting.

The only time i've seen it only move the camera on left click is when you have auto run active. I dont get why there isn't already a setting for this in the default ffxiv settings. Cause why would i need 2 buttons that does the exactly the same thing?

I really do miss to be able to move the camera when im running and not need to change keys from W to S to be able to look back while running and not use auto run.

It's the second thread I see about that, and I'm a bit confused.
The whole point of Legacy is that movements keys will align the character to the camera, so why can't you use the Standard Movement settings? What is this hybrid movement type y'all dream off and how does it work exactly?

By the way, I want to stress that out, movement keys is what causes your character to change direction, Left-Click has nothing to do with it; the same result can be obtained by not pressing any mouse button, so long as the camera is facing the right direction.
I think auto-running gives off this illusion because you don't press movement keys while doing it. The exceptions being Move Left/right, which actually have their behaviour changed to work like the Standard Type's Turn Left/Right.

All this to say, your suggestion would make more sense rephrased as "Revert all controls to Standard when holding LMB". You could even push it further, and instead have an entry in the keybind setting that lets you temporarily switch movement type while that key is held.

    Right you are!

"Revert all controls to Standard when holding LMB"
    Now that's a killer feature

System- keybinds, set Steer to nothing or just right click and see what happens; I use legacy and my left click only moves my camera, not my char, which is what it sounds like your asking for. SE does have some keybinds hard coded so if u don't over ride them they still work. Points at first person mode that has no keybinds in my settings, and thus should be impossible to enter, but I can drop something on my keyboard and I go into first person mode and have to make a keybind to get out and then re-delete it.
