I like it but why does it have 2 Rows 4x4 in 8men Content and not just 1 Row with 8 Portraits? 2 Rows make it look so ugly.

Because 1x8 would be a lot more intrusive in the moment...
Mortal Fist
because of low resolution 4:3 resolution players
Is there a way to turn off in duty portrait displays because I find them very distracting.
The display of party member portraits can be toggled on and off by accessing UI Settings in the Character Configuration window, and checking or unchecking "Show party member portraits at the start of duty." under Instant Portraits in the General tab.
In darkness, in cold, in the midst of winter where nothing walks the world but death and fear let the brave rejoice: I call the light.
Out of darkness, light. Ouf of silence, song. Ouf of the sun´s death, the birth of each year. Out of cold, fire. Out of death, life. Out of fear, courage to see the day. (Elizabeth Moon - The Deed of Paksenarrion)
I actually think it's a neat feature, just a bit disappointed that it's so small actually. You make big, colorful portraits but you only see it for a second and it's so tiny.
There could be some sort of a "pause" with the big thing on screen for a sec at the start of the duty, idk. With, of course, the possibility to turn it off if people don't like it.
It seems like it would make more sense to display the portraits while you're loading. Either before you enter, as each person confirms participation, or over the black screen as you load in. But it's too distracting having them show up where they do, while you're already travelling through the dungeon.
I saw it once as I loaded into the new trial, said "Well, that's gonna be annoying" and turned it off as soon as I exited the duty. Same with the commendation window. The list is fine for me. I don't need pictures. I think it meshes extremely well with CC, but not so much for PvE content. In its current iteration at least.

This would make sense, as they are now I just don't get it. Why do I need a window in the middle of my screen to show me my party when I can just....look at my party? I just don't get the point of this feature at all.
