I searched up the word to make sure, but it's actually not a typo.

It's actually the same word for corpse.

Is it really? I'm a writer and avid reader and I've never heard of that one. SE is really has a talent for finding obscure words.

Keep in mind that this is a fantasy setting with some olden days flavor. As such, NPCs often use archaic terms. This one in particular has thrown off a lot of people over the years, which you can see by entering the term corse into the search box at the top of the forum.

Actually, this is not a typo. Corse is an archaic form of corpse, which was intentionally used by the author.

A good tip is to use the "define xxxxx" search in goggle/d-d-g/askjeeves/whatever when you run over a word you are unsure of.
