In another parallel universe, they delayed the maintenance by a week, and these threads instead of complaining about the patch falling on a holiday in the US would instead be complaining that the patch is delayed and would be gasping for it to be released on said holiday.
Honestly, get over it and play something else. It is 1 day of the week. There are other games, is there some sort of allergy here?

today is the fourth the servers are offline so get over it their be back online tuesday morning.
How well would this play out on a Japanese holiday? Just wondering.
All so fun everyone telling people what to do. "Don't be mad go play outside." No! JUST NO!!!
Not to mention this way everyone gets to begin the patch all at once rather than one group getting the patch content first. It is fair this way.I've done this sort of work at a global level, and very simplistically, the various teams normally work to a unified implementation plan under a single change manager. Each team completes each relevant step in all countries then moves to the next step. Where optional steps are needed for a certain country then that is done while others idle, then everyone moves on together again.
Like juggling one ball instead of 4, it's easier to oversee this way, rather than having 4 teams doing things at different times, and should a rollback or additional change be needed (as is often the case), or a problem need fixing (which is incredibly common) then all countries can do it together. If you are using different runsheets, and a problem is seen in one country, but the others have zoomed to the end... issues.
And further to this operational need, should the NA servers be running but EU, JP, and OC not... how do you think the login queues would fare?

Thats likely due to location of the data center.
You're still getting stuff, even if you don't want to use it.

For all those folks telling others to "touch grass" and/or enjoy celebrations with family, may I remind you that there are some folks who are ill or have no family near or alive. Holidays are hard, because you're basically stuck in your house with the world around you shut down for the day.
I am very much missing my favorite video game today, and I really hope they take other countries' major holidays into consideration when planning patch days in the future.
