    unread mail notification, no unread mail?

    I keep getting the mail notification sound despite not having any unread mail. It comes about every thirty minutes. I have cleared out by inbox, deleting even read mail, and I'm not a member of any fellowships or FCs. Obviously it's not a game-breaker, but it is kind of annoying.

    I saw someone else had a similar issue a while back (https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/360589) but they didn't say how they resolved it. It started around the beginning of Endwalker for me and has continued pretty regularly. The sound comes in dungeons, cut scenes, housing, pretty much anywhere in the game. I will add that I haven't gotten any FC invites in ages, which just may be because I'm not a sprout anymore but I suppose it might have something to do with it.

    - Are you using a wired or wireless connection?
    - Platform (Playstation 4 or 5, Steam/Windows, or Mac)
    - Screenshot of issue
    - Do you have any firewalls or anti-virus software installed on the machine if are using a Mac or Windows PC? If so, which ones do you have installed?
    - Does any specific error message/code occur when the issue happens?
    - Have you refreshed the inbox and rechecked it after clearing it to see if any additional mail pops up?

    Hello, thank you!

    - Wired controller
    - PC
    - I can't take a screenshot, it's just the sound
    - No firewalls or anti-virus software other than the default Windows stuff
    - Nothing else happens but the sound
    - I've tried refreshing the inbox several times, nothing pops up

    Sorry, I was just re-reading this and realized the first question asked about connection, not controller. It is a wired connection, and the game is purchased through Steam (I was tired when I replied the first time).

    The same sound applies if you have pending friend requests in the lower right corner of your screen.
    This same sound may also apply to other notifications that persist as well.
    Please check if you have any pending notifications (such as friend requests) in the lower right of your screen.

    I don't have any notifications pending on my screen. I checked the Friend List and didn't see anything about pending requests there, either.

    In regards to this issue, the default notification sound you would be referring to is the "Chime" affect correct? If so, please provide the following information:

    - Do you have any existing mail in your mailbox at all or is it cleared out completely?
    - Do you have any pending friend requests or invites to a free company or possibly a party invite pending?
    - Have you checked to see if are queued up for an instance of some sort?

    Hello! It is the chime sound, correct. I have completely cleared out my mailbox, and as far as I can tell I don't have any pending friend/FC/party requests. I get the chime sound at all points in the game, regardless of whether I'm queued for an instance.

    Any updates? The sound is still happening, although it's not always as regular.
