Is the "correct" way to play something along the lines of bouncing around the Limsa plaza flirting with 2B maid miqote or the Gold Saucer or depressing deserted housing districts?
For some people yes. There's a lot more in the game than just fighting. I understand that there is a crowed of people who only want to have battle content. It's unfortunate that the game doesn't give you what you want, but I have to ask. Do you expect one game to give you that? The only reason I brought up gold saucer and other things is because it really seems like people think there is no point in doing anything unless it facilitates end game big number fluff. I'm really not trying to sound rude, but it seems like people take "try playing other games" as an attack.
