FFXIV is super interesting BUT then why?

I just bought the game, OK it looks really complex to me and it's still a very good start but would someone be able to explain to me why the pvp content is just missing??

Because an RPG of the Final VII during the 90's OK without the mmo side, you created an incredible story and you feed the player with a well-crafted scenario, side quests post end of the game, ultimate bosses very difficult and thus add longevity to your work.

But for an MMO it seems too bland for me, like a kid's game where everyone is really too friendly.

I am level 50 and I have never had the chance to pvp yet.

So if someone could help me understand better,

I would like to know if the pvp will only be present on the battelgrounds with more than 30 minutes of waiting to participate even being high level???

If so, for the attention of Moderaters for Developpers.

Instead of having a simple area like the wolf lair where you have nothing to do in fact.

Why not make a map with the permission of pvp + a lot of quests / Localized Occurrence of Random Events for PvP/ position of the big companies / ... ,... to earn specific credits that will be used to purchase special pvp equipment, with skills specially created for pvp enabled,...

Because a game exclusively focused on the pve, you will put your players to sleep except those who have a huge lack of testosterone, In short you could easily triple your number of subscribers by integrating real pvp content..

For example a story like;
Following the black crystal fallen from nothing ... , a disagreement is established between the big companies .. One of them decided to collect power (The maelstrom), another to prevent them from doing so (the order of the two vipers) and the last to decide to maintain order by taking care of the monsters coming to destroy everything with the Localized Occurrence of Random Events (the immortals),
after it's just for the story, everyone will pvp on the mode he prefers.. With a map gathering all Chaos's servers. Not necessarily loot, just pvp points by participation,...,...

In addition, with a duel option allowed everywhere except in capitals and your automatic rebalancing of levels; it will be a crazy laugh..

FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX, FFX, FFXII, FFXIII, FFXV OK content with a heavy story you already have, but most people I know who play on video games(49/50) don't give a damn about games of the Final fantasy gender because it's too boring for them,

Here with FFXIV, you have a rather complicated mmo, so needing a lot of mastery of the available skills, so attractive and competitive for pve as for pvp, and why don't you take advantage of it??

When I play FXIV now that I've tried it, I feel like I'm developing an athlete who will walk forever like a crippled.

You are the kings of all RPGs in all categories.
BUT the only real interest of an mmo is increased competitiveness. TACTICS are to PvE what IMPROVISATION is to PVP.

Because pvp doesn't interest everybody and that's what mobas and all those pvp games are for. They do one thing and one thing only.

Every other major MMO has way better PvP, this game needs open world pvp zones and guild vs guild to spice things up.

PVP wasn't initially part of the game and has been something that's traditionally been the forgotten stepchild given the focus on the Individual Hero experience and efforts throughout ARR and beyond to get the nations/GCs to unify under a single alliance. There's never really been a strong story-based reason for PVP like there is in other games and what we have received has been awkwardly shoehorned into its space. From what I can tell from recent Live Letters, PVP will be getting some love in sometime in the nearish future.


Personally, I'm glad for the lack of PVP since in every other game I've played that had a significant amount of focus on it; WoW, LotRO, ESO, an increasing amount of faction hate built up to the point where it spilled over into real world tribalism and toxicity. Case in point, your comment about this game boring anyone without a significant lack of testosterone. While not other games' level of toxic, that was an inaccurate assertion to make about your fellow players with clearly unkind innuendos.

I love me some PvP, but to be 100% frank, hope it stays the hell away from XIV in any significant fashion. If I want to PvP, I'll load up one of those other games and do it there.

You've hit the nail on the head right here. FFXIV is a Cooperative RPG on a large scale. It's not an MMORPG in the way the genre was defined and as the term's been used in the past. Yes, there are a lot of people playing, and we often group for dungeons and side content like maps, but it's no Everquest, Asheron's Call, FFXI, or even Vanilla WoW where a significant amount of multiplayer activity is required outside of the main story.

All MMORPG ever meant is "Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game" - that's all that means and has ever meant.

Thousands of players playing on the same shard over multiple shards: That fulfills the first requirement of Massively Multiplayer and Online.
Is a role-playing game. Fulfills the second requirement.

Whatever else people assume is necessary for a game to be an MMORPG just isn't. PvP? Not at all a requirement.

There is no requirement for an MMORPG to be competitive in any shape or form, and FFXIV has proven that by becoming the best (at the very least the most popular) MMORPG available.
