Upgrading your hardware is not a guaranteed fix - many of the people in this thread have newer machines. Don't waste your money.
We're less than seven hours from the patch going live and I somehow still have hope. If it doesn't get fixed, I'll be more than happy to fill out Elliah's survey and provide any other information that might help. I agree that sending personal letters to devs is probably excessive and not likely to have much of an impact (no matter how cathartic it may seem), though I'll be thrilled if we can make some noise on social media and the Japanese forums. In the meantime, if we're still stuck here tomorrow, keep the bug reports coming: https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...2-In-Game-Bugs Been a few days since I've seen a new one.
It was quoted in full two posts above mine and is still there for some reason. Don't get too excited - the rest of page 70 was mostly people discussing the only obvious way to apply the suggested fix, and it didn't work.
I’m bracing myself for the disappointment when I read the patch notes tomorrow and see nothing has changed.
Vast majority of players that have current gen CPUs don't have any issues related to sound. I haven't met any FX users that DO NOT have the same problem as us. It's clear - that it's either outdated processor, motherboard, or drivers for both of them. If you don't wanna wait months for devs do actually do something, the safest option would be to just buy modern hardware. Simple as that. You will have to upgrade your PC at some point in the near future as we can't be stuck in the past forever. Cleanse yourself of this pointless cope and move on.Upgrading your hardware is not a guaranteed fix - many of the people in this thread have newer machines. Don't waste your money.

Please do tell if upgrading hardware solved the problem for you, LULVast majority of players that have current gen CPUs don't have any issues related to sound. What makes me doubt is whether this post in the part of ''Confirmed/Planning to Adress'' is related to our problem
https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...und-stuttering.
It's not in patch notes and still not on list of "known issues" so at this point i'd assume its not being looked into. I'm going to let my sub run out til they decide to fix it or when i can buy a new machine
The more I see less posts from people at SE..The less faith I have they are even going to address this or even fix it
