I saw someone place in the top 12 in three different categories. Should we give them the same distain we give people who own more than one home? No, they worked for it.No, it's not. If that were the case, I would not have drawn the parallel. The Ishgard titles were limited to a certain number of crafters on the leaderboards. So taking more than one of them on your alt is exactly the same as taking more than one of the limited houses on your alt.
It's not cherry picking to point out that they are basically demanding that we all acknowledge that a horse is the same thing as a computer.
No, because unlike a house, titles are rewards and proof that you earned it. House acquisition is largely zero skill dumb luck and no honest person would ever consider it a reward. It's the same thing as saying that someone worked for that winning lotto ticket when we all know that's definitely not what happened.
Housing sucks just burn it to the ground already. Move gardening and the workshop features to your GC.
I didn't mean to be confusing. The analogy is less nonsensical than you imagine.
-SE allows multiple characters on one account to take multiples of the limited Ishgard titles, even if it means denying people's mains.
-SE allows multiple characters on one account to take multiples of the limited Feast rankings, even if it means denying people's mains.
So when you say "SE should walk back grandfathering because it means multiple characters on one account can take limited spaces, thereby denying peoples mains. I assume SE did not foresee or intend this." you're ignoring the above examples where SE did most definitely design and uphold systems which sometimes forsake mains for alts.
I mean, you basically pointed it out exactly why in your own quote:I didn't mean to be confusing. The analogy is less nonsensical than you imagine.

What you're talking about with the titles is no different than if someone no-lifed PvP and got multiple characters into the top 100, thus getting the rewards for multiple characters for that Feast season. While SE has clearly designed FFXIV to be playable as only one character (which is why they have the sub that's only one character/server), SE is not taking measures (where it makes sense) to prevent multiple characters on the same account from being on any leaderboard as (IMO) it never occurred to SE that people would put forth the effort needed to get multiple alts onto the leaderboards. Much like housing, SE isn't thinking through the implications of multiple characters from the same account on the same server and locking down stuff where it makes sense. Some will take this as SE's blessing... while others will point it out as SE's oversight. And then others are going to go "why do you care?" (much like with anything in life).
As this is a forum for housing, if you really want to go get the title issue taken care of, go post about it in the correct forum.
