when they were announcing the new DC, beffore telling it was in oceania, i almost had a hearth attack, hope someday they bring for us some server in LATAM, and maybe a official translation for portuguese and spanish

My guess as to why it was not on the table right now is because Australia barely had any COVID cases and even then it was all set-up remotely. I can only imagine how bad it would have been trying to set it up in Brazil given the insane death rate there.

Yea that some cold hard truth right there. It is very possible that SE can't even entertain the idea of a LA data centre right now because of how the pandemic is being handled in some countries there.

I still would like to see LA get a data centre though. Just when it's safe for SE to do it. I would like players there to have the same sort of experience I have with the game.

well we don't need a datacenter for now, but if the brings for us a portugues and a espanish translation it would be a great start, i know a bunch of people here taht just don't play because there is no any official translation

Bringing a DC and Just limitted text translations to Portuguese and Spanish out be great, since the NA DC is on the west coast the latency is even worse than other games in the east coast for example

i imagine oceania is more of a convenience for jp players so they no longer have to suffer english speakers

Not from SA but I sincerely hope you guys get a data center of your own as well as a fairer price model. The amount of ping you guys have to deal with is insane.

Even if not localizing the game for Spanish or Purtuguese (which would be a monumental task). A proper Datacenter for LATAM would be great for gameplay reasons.

Is not like SE or MMORPGs don't have fans in South America, there is more than enough MMORPG players in general.
But XIV is a hard sell for many due to latency/laggy gameplay.
