Question regarding servers

I saw that Oceanic is getting a server and im happy for them, but is there any plans for south america servers? We all know this game is highly ping sensitive regarding rotations, and some mechanics, i remember Titan when ARR released, it was just undogeble as a brazilian, now we have tools like tunnels that help but droping the ping from 200 to 180 is not really a improvement, and now that we will be able to play on all data centers is even more awesome. so if not possible for a SA server maybe a NA east? that would help...and side question, why not show in-game ping? amazon and google cloud server are out of the question too?

We haven't heard anything regarding South American or any other continental servers yet, but I can imagine that with enough support they'll be willing to look into it. I imagine they chose to do Oceania first because most Oceania players were playing on the Japanese data centers and thus the need was a bit more apparent to them.

They didn't even need to make a datacenter in SA, just put one of the datacenters on the East coast of the US, like World of Warcraft does. This would lower our ping in Brazil and the rest of latin america considerably and would also be good for ppl in Canada and on the East coast.
Right now the internet route for every player in SA is going to the east coast of the US and then having to pass through the whole US to reach the servers on the west coast.

If there is enough demand for it, it may happen eventually. It all comes down to cost and ROI. Oceanic DC been asked for idk ever since the NA/EU split.

They'd still have to place servers somewhere, they can't be in same physical DC. While it can still belong to same data center cluster they still have to route the traffic, so it won't be that much of a difference network wise.

If there is another location with a significant amount of players I expect it will be considered. They will have a better sense of who is the greatest priority based on statistics.

When making a new data center, they most likely have to ask if there are even enough people from that region to fit on several servers.

Making a new DC requires money, infrastructure and employers for that.
Although there's a chance of being outsourced like they did with China for political reasons, which means being separated from the others DCs and delayed patch.
Translators requires money and there's a lot to translate, if they're going to translate they had to hire employers to do support for that language, more money.
From a company that likes to make money it's a hard job.

From what I understand, the Oceanic server is the result of a consistent and vocal large player base who had organized themselves and had been making themselves known for years. They basically proved that a data centre there would not be a wasted expense. Not saying that a South American data centre would be a wasted expense, but it needs to be apparent to SE that that's not going to be the case. They basically need to see the proof it will be worthwhile. I'm sure they'll also need to see the Oceanic server pay off now as well given that if they don't see the results there I doubt they'll do it again elsewhere.
