Even WoW doesn’t do that much. Yeah, they went ham on races in BfA, but they haven’t even talked about adding new races in their current expansion.
Six of WoW’s nine expansions didn’t add a new class. Out of those six, only one added new race/class combos. Remember, SE doesn’t put a restriction on race/job combos.
As for that many dungeons per patch…WoW has gone entire expansions with no new dungeons outside of the base expansion set. They’ve cancelled announced raids before.
And here’s the kicker…WoW’s dev team is SIGNIFICANTLY LARGER that FFXIV.
I’m not defending either way. I just wanted to point out that even FFXIV’s biggest rival doesn’t even do what you think SE should.
I quite agree it's been some time since they added more racetracks for our Chocobo's. Pretty ridiculous.
I honestly don't know how the rest of the quote helps your point, but sure, I'll humour you
HOW could you even know this, where is the market study? Some of you guys really...
While I was in college I worked 3 years in retail, and honestly, you are the worst kind of people. The kind that screeches at the top of their lungs that they are a paying customer and want to talk with the manager because they ordered a Big Mac but you are actually in Burger King. Let me give you a reality check pal, 8 times out of 10 those people were wrong in what they were demanding, and the 2 that were actually right they immediately lost all empathy for their problem from both the employees and management when they started behaving like an unhinged Karen.
Obviously I do not expect my post to trigger a reality shaking epiphany within you, but would you at least mind dialing your entitled tantrums down for at least one day after we learned that one of the members of the staff had kept working through cancer for the sake of the fans?

Considering how we still don't have helms for Viera and Hrothgar, I can definitely see why they don't want to add more races due to complications with models and making sure all the armor in the game can fit them.

They literally said when the whale was first announced that it was an item people could buy (if they wanted), to give them money since they weren't charging people to go to/see/watch fanfest.
Compared to companies like Blizzard, SE is putting in a lot of effort/work for this game, and to discredit that is honestly kind of an insult.
You compared SE to Blizzard in a thread about races? And while I don't like the design of the races in WoW. If google is right they have 13 unique races up from original 8. They originally (not sure about now) had many racial unique designs. If you were going to try to make SE look better should have used some other game that has almost no race options like aion, bdo, or even eso.
Now for the whale I said 30 referencing the first or if you a stickler 29.99. They also have more then one 29.99 mount. The fanfest whale was 42 now on sale.
5 races in a 17 year span vs 2 races in a 7 year span. Both pretty much added 0,29 new races per year. You compared SE to Blizzard in a thread about races? And while I don't like the design of the races in WoW. If google is right they have 13 unique races up from original 8. They originally (not sure about now) had many racial unique designs. And again, remember WoW classes are race restricted, something FFXIV currently has not done.
Then add that to the fact that Blizzard currently only has 2 titles on the work (unless you count the Diablo phone game too, in which case 3), whereas Squarenix has at least 6 different titles, without counting Endwalker.

I want to take a deeper look into this comment about WoW races. You compared SE to Blizzard in a thread about races? And while I don't like the design of the races in WoW. If google is right they have 13 unique races up from original 8. They originally (not sure about now) had many racial unique designs. Thirteen original races. Correct. All of the Allied Races added in BfA are all reskins with some special customization.
FFXIV has seven. Each races has two different skins.
FFXIV beats WoW in terms of customization. There's not even an argument. Even with the new additions they added with Shadowlands, it's still not even a comparison.
WoW has twelve classes. No race can be every single class. All crafting and gathering jobs have basically used the same animations since their start, minus a couple that were changed for unknown reasons. Emotes are pretty similar between the races, not counting the custom ones like /dance. No individual class has an individual emote. If we do want to count custom emotes, we have to add in the eight Allied Races.
FFXIV has eighteen classes/jobs made for fighting, eight for crafting, and three for gathering. All races can be all classes/jobs. They have to make animations for every job for every race. Emotes are generally pretty different between the races as well, not counting custom ones like /dance. And all jobs have two custom emotes to go with them.
So yes, while WoW has more races, they also don't have to account for every class they have for every job. If we exclude the crafting and gathering classes, XIV has to make a full set of motion in for eighteen jobs. Oh! I forgot, we're getting two more, right? So make that twenty. That's 20 sets of animations per race. That's not even going into fitting the armor.
And as I mentioned in another reply, SE has a smaller dev team than WoW.
And while I do understand that most races share a similar skeleton, you have to factor in that all races are of different sizes. Those armor pieces are going to need *some* tweaking.

Since you decide to do a little math and go all the way to the end. Let us be more realistic. And I was shocked when I looked this up. ARR 2013 to endwalker 2021 we got 4 expansions over 8 years. WoW in exact same time had exactly same amount of expansions. So while Blizzard did produce more content earlier because I had seen someone do the math. SE is slowly pulling ahead in some areas by mostly consistent release schedule. Now if I even gave you the benefit of the doubt and said male and female would both be ready at launch or close. Which probably isn't happening. WoW had 5 male/female races and FF14 had 3ish.
The amount of classes races are locked out is tiny and some of those sets are usable for more then one job so the gear would still have to fit the new races anyways. What I am confused about is why SE didn't steal the Tauren boot approach when making Viera head gear. They have a unique boot design tailored to their feet that is pretty convenient/lazy. Which probably saves a lot of time designing shoes that are special. Using that option now people would cray murder since they already have some head pieces.
Your SE has 6 titles in the work is going against the SE defenders. That SE is not pulling resources from 14 and they are their own team. Either SE is not cannibalizing 14 or it is. It is SE company they can move staff where ever. Just people can't use both sides when ever it suits them.
