From this you are saying you never use words like she, he, they, etc. I seriously doubt you speak with those sort of words entirely absent from your vocabulary.No. It would take too long to rework all the dialogue and not worth the DEV time. People need to get over having pronouns in all aspects of life. And I say this as a member of the LGBT community and I do NOT put pronouns anywhere and that's my right not to. I didn't know it was a requirement.
The LGBTQ+ community didn't invent the concept of pronouns lol

Yep, I was made to feel like I didn't belong; that being Spanish I was somehow lesser to everyone else. I won't lie, it really destroyed my childhood from that point forward. I wasn't just a kid anymore, I was the "Mexican" kid (and that's when they were being nice).. and even if I was Mexican AS IF that would make me any lesser! Children can be very cruel.. well this carried on throughout my entire school career, so it was also teens continuously berating me for something I cannot change about myself, nor would I want to!Aye yeah when I came back to NY it was a trip. I was born in NY but my parents moved to Spain when I was a child to care for my mom's mother. I lived in a bubble I legit never even knew the concept of race or even thought about.
Yet when I came back to the states I started getting picked on for how I looked. Oddly enough in when I lived in Spain I never felt different due to how I looked yet looking extremely different from most, yet once I came to the states it is like a fog was lifted all of sudden my appearance mattered. I did not fit in with either side of my upbringing.
Oddly enough being a black blonde Hair blue eyed child was weird at the time.
Either way as Churro mentioned it sucks but you cannot let it bother you as an adult. It is done in the past and also as an adult I have not experienced such issues cause I do not let me get it me. Sure people may still poke fun but no point letting it live rent free.
Anyway, I completely sympathize with the people here, but you cannot let it get to you. If you do, they win, and they get exactly what they want. Be proud of your identity: gender, racial, whatever it is!

I would prefer if gender politics stayed out of this game because of the toxicity that often follows in it’s wake.
We’re fortunate to be able to play any gender we like. We can have a masculine, a feminine, or even an androgynous-looking character.
Personally, I relate well to both, so I have male and female characters. I have some super masculine male characters, and some quite feminine beautiful ones. I have some pretty feminine female characters, and I have some more masculine-looking tomboys.
We have plenty of options.
I don’t see the need to drag toxic real world politics into the game.

This is why I shrink away from conversation with people using ‘they’ as singular. Also in English it might lead to confusion in dialogue if the game is referring to both an individual and a group within the same paragraph. If a player chose to have themselves referred to as "they", a gender neutral pronoun, then the dialogue would have two instances of "they" instead of one singular and one plural pronoun which could make the text misleading because it could be unclear which "they" the particular subjects are related to. Some dialogue would need to be rewritten to avoid this sort of confusion.
It can become so complicated and confusing.
I tried to read an article that was telling an anecdote using ‘they’ for singular and plural, and even after reading it over 5 times I couldn’t keep up with how many people were being discussed. Eventually I gave up on even figuring out the point of the story.
I mean from the get go it was a nasty thread. The first response to op says it all, including the number of people who up voted it. They can try and cover up their bigotry with the "dev time" excuse, but I think we all know that's just a red herring at this point. Content continues to get cut without any inclusive things being done. As if adding an option to change he/she to they is something that would even take up much dev time.
sad!

isnt this a bit too new for you Troy? I mean its from this year after all. its hardly a necro worthy of your prodigious talent
No disrespect but if you Identify as a certain sex wouldn't it make sense to play as the sex you identify as?
