Housing Timer

I understand that they wanted to add a timer to prevent people from selling houses and everything but my god a potential maximum of 36 HOURS ?? it feels REALLY overkill, people have lives! To add insult, the timers reset anytime someone relocates! And even then, the competition on some servers is miserable! Please for the love of FFXIV shorten the timer!!!

At the start of last year I had already had a house, and had been in that house for like 2 years. in December my IRL house burned down, and so I could no longer play (obviously), a few days later they decided it was time to reintroduce the auto demo. yay me.

months later, now that I am back in a stable place and trying to get back into the housing, i come to find that the housing has gotten much worse on my server, I've already lost 3 houses I tried camping at.

So sorry to hear about your RL issues. I hope everyone is safe and unharmed.
As for housing. Many people have lost in game housing for many reasons. I hope you get another house soon and maybe transfer to the one you truly like or to a plot like the one you lost.

Sorry to hear that you've had to go through all of that. The housing system is botch and trying to get a house on a populated server is nigh impossible. This forum will likely offer you little reprieve or sympathy so, probably best to just not subject yourself to further demoralization in it. Best bet is to just wait for Ishgard Housing and try to get one on patch day. It'll save you a lot of heartache and frustration.

Your best option will be to obtain another house at next 6.0 ward release.
Timer is there for a specific reason and will not go away in any form as long as demand > supply.

Timer length should be reduced in my opinion and yes the best time to get a house is during new ward additions. Just be sure to plan ahead and be ready to get into that log in queue.

Let it be reduced to 4 hours or something, impossible to sellto someone else in that time frame, especially as there is lack of housing so those interested would be monitoring the wards often if not all the time, on top of that add it to max like 5 clicks or something per hour per plot trying to buy, so botting is not an option.

No game has yet to implement a perfect housing system because human civilization is not yet sure how to implement a perfect housing system. The closest thing would be if you paid $$ for your own server (essentially paid for the real world real estate necessary to hold your virtual real estate).

That said, the current system essentially encourages bots and spending time trying to stop the bots at this point is spinning wheels IMO. There are a ton of good ideas in the megathread. We can only hope the product managers are taking notice and interested in feedback from the community.
