I was introduced to instanced housing back when I first played SWTOR years ago and then again in the best housing ever created annals of Wildstar where sadly, the gameplay itself failed. It works, and allows everyone to avail themselves of their perfect idea of a dwelling to suit varied tastes.
I cannot tell you that I ever ride the wards, I just do not. My front yard view of the FC consists of a very big and very yellow chocobo home to the right of me, a likewise uninspiring Piassa home across the way accompanied by various other creature-featured and shades of purple-roofed offerings scattered amid the fray. I just created a small forge home to offset the garishness and I suspect they might just hate me for it with all of it's belching fire and smoke-puffing gray splendor in an "odd man out" fashion. Lucky for them, it's a small hehe.
Instanced housing can be a board akin to our existing MB where players can, if they choose to do so, list their creation(s) in each sub division to accept and/or display and allow visitors and friends. You could also allow insertion of gardens, games and gathering nodes on property to encourage community sharing and interaction. I miss this design and really hoped it would be implemented here in the near future but alas, I fear the hamster is severely crippled beyond any repair :/
