The problem is everyone is fighting to put their things in Ul'dah because that's what everyone checks first and most often, as it has been the trading hub for quite some time now.

If it were possible to check all 3 wards with one search, we wouldn't be having this problem, as placing your retainer in limsa would still be just as viable as placing it in uldah.

I've yet to see a better suggestion for improving the market system than the one I made here.

Much of the justification and reasoning is made in this thread.

An improved market system that ditches the terrible ideas and limitations of the current system would be vastly superior to any traditional Auction House system.

The latest changes does move the ball further towards this, I hope, inevitable destination by semi-linking the wards by at least making them more accessible.

However, a final version of the market wards should include in order the following:
  1. A singular hub or interface for players to browse, purchase, and sell all items that are available on their Server.
  2. Remove the wards in favor of a reference system which will include all items stored in retainer's bazaars regardless of where they are.
  3. Allow players to see comparable prices of items as they place items for sale in their bazaar.
  4. Incorporate personal shops managed by retainers into the housing system.

One last thing I noticed while browsing this thread; a large number of people seem to still complain about undercutting. In one of the links I provided above I already outlined why undercutting is in fact good for everyone. The only improvement you could have would be to have things undercut faster to their lowest possible price. This is, however, completely at the hands of the players. Understanding that undercutting happens when supply>demand, if you did not undercut your items would not sell. Asking someone else to not undercut you means that they will not be paid for their efforts, which is nonsensical.
