    FFXIV crashing, no errors or logs

    The Issue: FFXIV randomly crashes to my Desktop. There are no warnings, no error messages, and no known consistencies.

    I've tried many suggestions from various threads ;

    List of things that don't work :

    1. Windows 7 compatibility mode.
    2. Limiting my FPS to 60 / 90
    3. Fullscreen / Windowed / Borderless
    4. Editing Internet Explorer Settings
    5. No Overlays
    6. Updating my BIOS
    7. Re-installing my OS
    8. Rolling back GPU drivers (Please note this is the reason why my drivers are an older version)
    9. Re-installing FFXIV
    10. Fresh GPU driver install via DDU in Safe Mode
    11. Finding any errors or logs via Event Viewer

    You mentioned looking over the event viewer. Were you able to find anything related to the crashes? If so, can you provide them?

    When did these crashes first happen? Do you recall anything changing/updating on your PC that coincides with this?

    1. To clarify, I meant that I was unable to find any logs or errors associated with my crashes.

    2. These crashes have happened since I re-subbed on 4/27/20. Originally the crashes would happen randomly but, only once or twice a day. I attributed this to the game being on my HDD and installed the game on my SSD (Fresh install, not just copying over files) on 5/16/20 or so.

    2a. Since 4/27/20, I've upgraded my BIOS, and have had a new SSD installed (This includes re-installing my Windows 10 OS). At the time, I had also installed the latest NVIDIA drivers. I cannot point to these changes as a cause solely because FFXIV is the only application that experiences these issues on my machine.

    The only extra details I can gather is, I've found these crashes to happen far more when I'm watching a cut-scene in-game. If I leave the application running in the background or just stand still in the area I'm at, I don't crash at all, I tested this for a couple of hours while I was working. But, the moment I actively try talking to NPC's and a cutscene happens, or when I'm in a dungeon, running around in the outside world, etc, the crash is far more likely to occur.

    I know that typically what a user says and what actually occurs may differ due to lack of knowledge, embarrassment, etc but, I'm unable to provide you with logs to back-up my claims nor find said logs to trouble-shoot on my own. Is there anyway for me to accomplish this?

    We would like to recommend performing a Clean Boot on the desktop to see if the crashing continues. This will prevent any programs from starting up when the starting when the computer first boots up. This can end up having adverse effects on the game when these programs are running in the background. To perform a clean boot for Windows 10: Open the task manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC) and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.

    Hiya,

    I've already tried that method and unfortunately it didn't resolve the issue.

    I took it one step further by checking all processes that run on start-up via the sysinternals tool "Autoruns" (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sys...loads/autoruns). This unfortunately still didn't work even with disabling some processes from running on start-up that you otherwise wouldn't be able to (unless you've specified in your registry).
