Add me to the list. I used to be able to run FFXIV just fine, but the crashes have become more and more frequent to the point of absurdity. Mostly mine are similar to the below error (not sure the exact letter/numbers I've gotten, but you get the idea).
"An unexpected error has occurred. Exiting FINAL FANTASY XIV.
<current date and time>
ffxiv_dx11.exe+xxxxxx
ffxiv_dx11.exe+xxxxxx
ffxiv_dx11.exe+xxxxxx
ffxiv_dx11.exe+xxxxxx
ffxiv_dx11.exe+xxxxxx
KERNEL32.DLL+xxxxx
ntdll.dll+xxxxx
I've also gotten Windows blue screens. Sometimes it's a kernal error and sometimes it references some Nvidia driver. I even got a page fault just for backing up my settings using the launcher's backup tool.
Before anyone blames my setup, literally nothing else, game or other software crashes on my PC. FFXIV is the only thing I have issues with. I have tried removing and reinstalling Nvidia drivers including different versions. I have run sfc and ccleaner. I reboot every evening. I have uninstalled and reinstalled FFXIV.
Whatever is causing these widespread instabilities should be the top priority. The absolute lowest common denominator level of service is providing a game that doesn't crash. All the wonderful content means little if it's trapped in a package that I can't access or randomly snaps shut the moment I try to enjoy it. This should be utterly humiliating to anyone involved in the production of this game. Even if you're not involved with QA, this makes your whole operation look bush league, and that's truly sad considering this is a Square Enix property. If this were Two Guys in a Garage Productions (apologies if that's actually a thing) I could understand, but I expect a heck of a lot more out of a division of SE.
I was honestly considering buying this game again on PS4 just so I could play it, but doesn't that send the wrong message? Do I have to buy the game a second time at full price on an inferior platform just to enjoy what I'm already paying for? Would buying the game again help out the QA team? Do I need to go full whale in the Mog Station? What more do you guys want from me to do what you're already supposed to be doing? What hoops must be jumped through by me, the lowly consumer, to make something work that should just work? Please let me know.
