whew, that is a relief. I'll have to re-read that if it's patch notes. I kind of skimmed over most of it to the thing I was mostly interested in (job updates) and the small nier stuff. Saw all the gear, but then immediately was worried that might've been and was hoping it wasn't. Thanks!
I'm kinda surprised that Orbonne will be getting echo. I guess people still couldn't get past Thunder God.
As someone who did this content on-content, a lot of this is, in fact, very minor stuff. The mount and minion are obtainable in POTD and very easily. The Coven weapons are just for show and a very small chance to get if you even clear the Emergency Missions which (as much as I love it) got increasingly harder to clear the less people listened and the more people cleared. The achievement points can be obtained elsewhere, they aren't removing that. The title is a minor loss. The content was bad because you needed a very large party to do most of it and most of the time you couldn't get people to set foot in it (even on-content) which meant it died very quickly pre and post reboot. And post reboot queues made it impossible to get into it at all afaik without getting a PF together. All of this will be gone for TWO WEEKS while they re-adjust things. They never said it was all gone permanently.
They are adjusting it because it needs to be accessible by level 1 players as their goal for the Ishgard restoration is that level 1 and level 80 players will all be able to join in and help. Which, believe it or not, is making something more accessible. And even then, this sounds like another "male viera" thing where people are complaining about hopes they got this idealized dream-like thing where they thought "Oh wow, I'll be able to do this, this, and this!" instead of waiting to see what happened. Hell, I still think people who want male viera have this cute bunny/hare boy idea in their heads and would probably be angry if they didn't make that. Which gives me the idea that if in 2 weeks after the patch it's not exactly like it was in the past we'll have people getting upset that Diadem isn't what they wanted exactly. Which confuses me to me since I hated the place at first, disliked the stuff outside of Emergency Missions second, and now just wants to see what it becomes. The fact that people are getting upset over content I found dull, drab, and uninteresting, honestly, beggars belief after watching people throw it under the bus for almost 4 years now.
I'm from 1 MS in the future.
Nooooooo. Why. T.T it should've stayed hard. That stings so hard.
Why am I sad its nerfed? Because it was fun learning it. But since it's not actual hard content that matters it was bound to happen sooner or later. Hey it was my ultimate. Guess I should just get good and do the real hard stuff. I really need to get good. Anyone wanna be a teacher?

- Ninja: Is this even a Ninja? It has less in common with itself in any given expansion than with a weird Dancer/Dragoon hybrid...
- MNK: Blue-glowing constipation-stance (Anatman) made more consistently punishing at 2.5 to 3 seconds per opener up from .1 to 3 seconds. Hurray?
- SAM: Well, at least TG is no longer always a 2.5-second GCD lock? RIP Meditate fishing, for better or worse.
- BRD: Are we really still overestimating rDPS this badly? The average of 1% rDPS might not even be enough to reach MCH level rDPS (in their case, via pDPS alone). And what's with these noticeable-only-on-paper minute raid buffs? What was wrong with having raid buffs actually worth holding CDs for even if not stacked 4 at a time?
- DRG: So BotD is a non-mechanic that literally cannot fail except by going AFK, and yet we're still using up a button and a gauge for it?
- SMN: If we can refresh and spread our DoTs for free every 10 seconds, why even bother having our DoTs outside of Tri-disaster? We now have Iron Jaws, but at zero opportunity cost.
- RDM: Toolkit's still a mess, but I'll take the potency buffs for now?
- MCH: Sure, I guess.
- SCH: Okay?
- WHM: Okay.
- AST: Actually, these are pretty good.
- Healers: (Via Rescue) Okay, I dig that.
Outside of the limited-time moogle event, the Pegasus mount cannot be obtained any other way besides trading in 99 of the battle-related Spoils from Diadem. You cannot get it from POTD. Not 100% sure on the two minions, but I could be wrong on those. They have moved a lot of the older Diadem rewards to other content already, which is why them suddenly deciding to NOT consider the remaining rewards burns even more.
Being just for show is about what everything is worth, so not sure why Coven weapons don't matter any more than glamour or minions or mounts. The fact is they were and still are the only i280 level 60 weapons in the game, had new weapons just added in 5.0 and were something alot of people never got a chance to see or get.The Coven weapons are just for show...
What? Achievement points aren't gil. There is a limited amount of them and removing 230 points is removing 230 points. You may not care about them, but for those of us who do 230 unobtainable points that were otherwise, even to this day, relatively obtainable for the most part, is not a minor thing. The title, also, is a very coveted tile that a lot of people use and a lot of people want, myself included. It's not minor just because you personally don't care. The achievement points can be obtained elsewhere...
Agreed. This was what made Diadem a failure (and also what continues to make Eureka a failure), and compounded that failure as time went on. The biggest mistake they ever made was not touching it at all in 4.0 or 5.0 and keeping it synced down to 60 with no updated tome rewards. It should have been opened up to any level, gave current tomes for completion, and let people queue solo back in 4.0.The content was bad because you needed a very large party to do most of it...
The patch notes say the achievements will no longer be obtainable. End of sentence. Last time they did this they were very clear about saying it would be a temporary shutdown and all achievements would still be obtainable, albeit slightly differently, in the new Diadem. The fact they did not say anything about current Diadem's rewards existing come the Restoration seems to imply it's all going in the trash compactor. I hope I'm wrong, I really do. I hope one of those rarely sighted mods comes along with a word of clarification and says "Sorry for the confusion folks, but rest assured Diadem is only gone temporarily and everything will still be available in 5.15 when Ishgardian Restoration is released!"All of this will be gone for TWO WEEKS while they re-adjust things. They never said it was all gone permanently.
People aren't upset over Diadem being reworked. It needed reworked and we all knew it would be reworked since Ishgardian Restoration was announced. People are getting upset because content with rewards there is no other way to get is being removed, and we were not given any notice that this would be the case. Nobody will complain about the new diadem if it still offers some way to get the rewards I mentioned in my previous post. Even people who think it's worse than the previous Diadem will still have to admit that the old Diadem was dead whether they enjoyed it or not and needed reworked. Nobody complained like this the first time it was reworked precisely for this reason....The fact that people are getting upset over content I found dull, drab, and uninteresting, honestly, beggars belief after watching people throw it under the bus for almost 4 years now.
don't forget with Bane the spread has a falloff. so even if you keep baning off baning you're not being very smart.
