Should I do that for:

Only:
C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn\boot\ffxivboot.exe

Or both:
C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn\boot\ffxivboot.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn\boot\ffxivboot64.exe

Will do this, and report back results once I have them.

Aside: opened case of PC to look at wiring today. Everything still good and clean. Moved GPU from PCI slot 2 to slot 1 on the theory that slot 2 was too close to bottom of case to get good ventilation.

Running 'zotac firestorm' on second monitor to try and live watch for what my temps and fans look like at the very moment of a crash. Last night CPU was at 77, looked away for a minute to game, and got a crash before I saw what it might show... (Maybe I should point a camera at it... oddly enough I have a Nest home camera so if this keeps up I will).

My exact GPU model is the Zotac ZT-T20800D-10P
http://hkftp.zotac.com/External/VGA/...P-brochure.pdf
So that's an RTX 2080. NOT an RTX 2080 TI.
It wants 650 watts power, I have 750.

I notice my fans kick in for FFXIV much sooner than for other games. Last night I went into WoW and ESO and ran dungeons in both (which I fail at as I no longer play those regularly) with settings maxed out - while also keeping some graphics apps open on the second monitor.
- For WoW the fans kick in, but it doesn't crash and they don't run as hard. For ESO the fans didn't kick in until near the end of things and only lightly.

(Uninstalled BDO - was hoping that would be relevant, this all began a day or so after I first installed that game).

As I type this Zotac is telling me a CPU of 39, and GPU fans running at 29% speed... CPU clock 1515, mem clock 7000. I am not overclocking my system, to my knowledge, but will check that again as well).
- the CPU temp and GPU fan speeds go up when I load the game, to on average the 50-60 range for temp, and 40-60% for speed. Firestorm doesn't show the actual rotation-speed on those fans.
