Dx error won’t let game launch. Prior thread was closed without resolution.

I’m going to try to be calm, but I’m not gonna lie, I’m livid. Sorry in advance.

An admin closed my thread here[ http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...to-launch-game ] despite no resolution bring given. We’ve been waiting for a reply only to not get any and to have the thread closed. That is unacceptable and I hope it was a mistake. If not, I’d love to know where the resolution was posted.

It’s likely her sub has ran out as again, it’s been a month, but we still want this fixed. She doesn’t feel confident in resubbing until this can be fixed as she wasted $12 already (and seemingly won’t be reimbursed) so let us know if that will affect things. I don’t know if you can launch ffxiv without a sub.

To recap:
She can’t even log into the game or forums. The game insta crashes when she hits play. She cannot post for herself due to some rule about not logging in for more than 14 days so I am posting for her. This info is 100% hers, not mine. Her account is [Redacted] in case this is account related but we doubt it. She’s played FFXIV before with no issue, just not on this computer.

We have tried:
Disabling overlays
Clean reboot
Updating graphics card
Reinstalling graphics card
Reinstalling the game 4 times (Her computer has never had FFXIV on it but she still made sure no traces were left). We made sure to do this after the big patch when SHB broke the game for a lot of players.
Running in DirectX 9 (Won’t work. Same crash)

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

If they have never played the game on this PC successfully, try updating Windows. Make sure to install any 'Optional' or 'Recommended' updates as these may not have been installed automatically.

Make sure that any anti-virus program they have has the appropriate exceptions for Final Fantasy XIV.

If it was not done while reinstalling the game, remove the locally-saved data folder (located My Documents > My Games > Final Fantasy XIV).

Remove any overclocks (including any factory overclocks) on the GPU.

I do want to note that if they no longer have a subscription on the account, they won't be able to log into the game to troubleshoot the issue.

Hey, I thought you'd like to know that the Japanese moderators have passed this along and it's under "working to resolve/confirm" over there. Hopefully a resolution will come soon, I can't start the game at all with dx11 either and dx9 keeps crashing on me.

I too have this problem while trying to even launch the game. Would love to be able to play again. Game was working fine before a reformat.

Final Edit: I canno't even launch the Shadowbringers Benchmark. Is there a core windows file a new reformat might be missing that a reinstall would help me and the above users with dx11.exe errors?

About a week,since I changed my hard drive. But I did a fresh reinstall of Final Fantasy XIV, and now all I can get is DX9 to run Deleted and remade the config folder as well. Updated my directx, drivers, underclocked my GPU, lowered resolutio etc. PRetty much every post on the forums about this issues I've tried the fix

If you have not done so already, could you try doing a cleanboot? Open the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.
