DX Error When trying to launch game

Posting this for a friend. Because they have been unable to actually log into the game, they are incapable of posting on the forum for themselves. Their account is under "brytewolf"

Renewed subscription on 6/29 and installed the game. After clicking Play on the launcher, I see a black screen and then

and the game crashes. When I switch to DX9, it also crashes (though the error is different). I have not been able to log in even a single time since activating my account.

My monitor has a native refresh rate of 60 Hz. I'm unable to change this through nVidia settings.

I have reinstalled the game 3 times, including today. My graphics drivers are up to date.

Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Just for clarification, are these the PC specs for his system or yours? Could he try doing a cleanboot? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.' If he has not done so already, please tell him to disable any overlays.

Nothing on her computer is obstructing the game from running.

My cousin gets this inside his game while playing what happens I was watching so he goes to mine a node.
Then loses sound and total freeze sometimes it lets him go but then boom he gets a slew of DX errors.

Never had the issue in stormblood he's got a new nvidia card also so that can't be it.
