Constant 90001-90002 Connection Issues Followed by Lobby Error 2002

I play on PC. For about a week now I've been getting constant disconnects with either both error codes 90001 and 90002. If I try logging back into the game I get lobby error 2002 and the game closes. If I relaunch the game I can get back in.

This happens in instances and in the overworld, my internet connection outside of the game is fine and nothing else disconnects at the same time. The disconnects can happen anytime from minutes after logging into the game to an hour after logging in. I am connected to my router via ethernet cable and have tried connecting to the modem via ethernet cable with no change. I have contacted my ISP and they can't detect anything wrong.

Thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Have any changes been made to your network or connection set up? Are you connecting to the game with WIFi or through an Ethernet cable?

    Hope to see you online!

Cable internet connection? Your modem might be bad. I replaced my modem recently and magically 90% of my disconnects disappeared. There was a batch of modems sold with a bad Intel processor from 2015-2018 and a lot of them are still out in the wild. If you have one of the ones on this list, either replace it with a new one if you purchased it yourself, or if you are renting or bought one from your cable Internet provider, ask them to swap it out to a modem with a Broadcom chip.

    See this page: https://approvedmodemlist.com/intel-...ipset-defects/

Note: Your ISP won't see anything wrong because the signal strength to and from the modem is fine. And the signal to your PC or router will be fine. This is a defect in the processor that only appears when the modem is under heavy load, like running an MMO :P

Thanks Catwho, it looks possible that my modem might be the issue. I'm in contact with my ISP now to see about testing a non Puma6 chipset modem. I will update once I see if that fixes my issue.

New modem with a different chipset did not fix my disconnecting issue. Everything I've found points to it being a problem on FF14's end.

Try a VPN. I bet the issues will resolve for you too. They did for me!

I'm sure it's possible a VPN might solve the issue but I don't think it's reasonable for me to pay extra to fix an issue that isn't on my end. I've decided to unsubscribe since I can't reasonable enjoy the game.

Hey dude, if you still have sub time can you read this please

    https://kintsugi.seebs.net/threads/f...on-issue.3875/

I'm testing this theory out myself, it seems stupid and far fetched, but out of like 50 things I've tried, I'm willing to give it an extra 51.

I went into my date and time settings, made sure to set time automatically and time zone.

I then went into 'set date and time' then the tab 'internet time' - change settings, tick the box and synchronise.

I just found this thread too.

Our problem might be because of a fu***** clock.

I went from DCing every 5 minutes as of 10 minutes ago, to being fine but I'll leave my game open for a few hours to see what happens
