I’m curious..how often does Yoshi ACTUALLY listen and answer to requests here?

Because to be honest, I’m not seeing very many questions being answered that are from the forums. I know he and his team are Japanese, but I have no doubt they have someone there who speaks some English.

Idk, to me, seems like 90% of posts and requests here are either ignored, or are greeted with the same answer: “We can’t do that. We would have to rebuild the graphics engine.”, etc

Maybe Yoshi just does what he wants, idk

The JP player base is usually more in touch with him than we are. When we have questions it's either ridiculous requests or they somehow get lost in translation most of the time. But yeah, the devs' favorite excuse is server or hardware limitations otherwise. After so long you begin to wonder if it's actually true.

Its harder for us to communicate and get answers quickly when there is a language barrier between us.

Its not like we could just tweet him and get an answer like with say blizzard. Although they aren't the best example as of late.

Feedback is gathered from all regions, so long as it is voiced in a constructive manner.

Even on the JP side, almost never. There are community reps that take feedback, submit it, then it gets translated and given off to someone who might give it to Yoshida if approved. Maybe.

The devs may chime in in a thread over there, because they can easily communicate, but those answers there are usually translated and then posted in a thread on a similar/same subject here as well. But actual like, game changing feedback where people say "we want this" almost never. Sometimes they will add stuff though, see Lord of Verminion, the male bunny suits, Viera and the Ronso dudes. All those were heavily requested things.

Back in 1.x days he used to check the forums a lot. Now it feels more disconnected.

It's reasonable to assume that people are reading this stuff, just not the stuff you might imagine.

And It's Yoshida's translator Koji who most likely reads a bulk of the forum stuff to take notes and relay back to the proper channels.

There is also the forums mods; who i presume do a lot of the sifting & gathering of information for Koji to translate for Yoshida.

But by-and-large the General Discussion sections aren't likely targeted as much or flagged as places where important information gets posted in by players, so it wouldn't surprise me if the Staff tend to treat GD-section as the "Rant" section, and the other sections being deemed more important for them to actively watch and respond to.
