Many settings/data/info not saved when logging out and back in

ISSUE FIXED It was a combo of Windows Defender and some odd permission issue. If anyone else runs into this issue, check Window Defender's Ransdomware defense, it blocks changes to files (including in Documents, which is where the My Game folder is, which is where the FFXIV config files are).

Once you have that shut down, google for this issue and you'll find many walkthroughs of how to change ownership of a directory to some new second admin account (you need to create that). Once you pass ownership away from your admin account and then back to your admin account, this issue clears up. At least it did for me.

Note: This bug was submitted previously (http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ut-and-back-in) and was moved from Accepted Bugs to Insufficient Information... but the reply the GM added made no sense. I think it was intended for a different thread. The reply mentioned " issue you are having regarding the character item lve calculation", but my bug had nothing to do with that...

Still, the reply asked for the platform I played on, so: PC/Steam. Windows 10, 64 bit.

Steps:
1. Do one of the following things:
-Change the position of something on your hot bar.
-Change your gear and save the gear set.
-Send your retainers out on a quick venture.
(Edit: This isn't a complete list. It's many things, including things like changing anything in your HUD and your chocobo's stance.)
2. Log out.
3. Log back in. If you changed something on your hot bar, the button will not be in the new position. If you changed something in your gearset, the change will not be saved -- the old item will still be in your gearset. In the case of the venture, all ventures will show as "completed" even if only a couple seconds passed.

Adding someone to your friends list or your blacklist DOES stay when you switch.

Are you logged in to Windows with an account with administrative privileges? Those settings are saved in a folder that defaults to:

My Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\

Give yourself full control of the folder, and it might fix the issue.
