Server Merge Destination - EU Players

yea i agree with both bebe on the side of it would be nice to move with the linkshells and people we are familiar with and to stay together and on a plus side were all going to lose the dead wood rotting our linkshell lists when we have to reform our almost iconic LS's (at least that how i see the LS names)

As for Embers comment I agree with that also as I see server 1 as being the easy choice for the lazy to just say its first on the list lets just join there, and server 10 I don't personally like as I don't want to put myself in a position where when I sign on at an unusual time I don't want to feel like im in a ghost town.

i'm happy with any choice for server just a little apprehensive about server 1 being over crowded and we end up going there and we lose people due to them not getting in on time, and then have to find a server where we can all fit.....cause some of us dont always come online everyday and due to work commitments might be unable to sign in on the 1st of march to make and log your server choice and ultimately lose our friends, cause i know if i am not able to stay in the same community i would quit the game until such time i had the freedom to join my friends again..

Ok everyone, there is already a Linkshell existing for purposes like this, and we thought we might aswell make good use of it. The name is "United Linkshells of Cornelia", active again just for this merge subject, and to easen communication between us all.

I want to encourage all officers/leaders from Cornelia's Linkshells to /tell either myself Bebe Karakurenai, Blenka Sop or Thug Hunter for an invite.

Please let us gather and discuss wether we go together and more important, where we want to go.

Ok it seems pretty clear that Server 10 doesnt fit the Cornelia - style of gaming and I agree with you guys on that.
On the Server 1 thought it's very intresting that most of the other servers already expect us to go to Server 1...

I have looked on the other world threads to see what the other servers have in mind and I found that it generally goes like this:

World 1: Cornelia
World 2:
World 3: Istory, Mysidia
World 4: Fabul,
World 5: Selbina, Lindblum
World 6: Gyshal, Figaro
World 7: Trabia, Wutai
World 8: Besaid
World 9: Palamecia, RPCommunity
World 10: EU

Undecided: Rabanastre, Bodhum, Melmond, Saronia, Karnak, Kashuan

As I see it right now Server 1 is a pretty safe bet for us, the only problem is what are the Japanese thinking about it.
On the other hand too many people have thought of suggesting server 5 or 6

Waiting on people's thoughts.

This is so helpful. I was hoping someone would try this in the general forums. Guess it's just to messy for factual posts with all the drama.

Don't think the JP are a big concern, our server is mostly jp already, and it doesn't cause problems

Server 1 at the moment might be a safe bet, but theres also the fact that there are undecideds to consider. If everyone from cornelia and rabanastre decided to go to server 1 on top of the jp population its going to be a hell hole. Jumping into a server that already has a low pop server dedicating to it like world 4 might be a safer bet.

Well if the undecided people care to check on what's happening to other servers so they can decide, they will be able to see what world is occupied by whom and they will decide accordingly.

The important part is to have a server chosen (Number 1 for now) so that the other servers have a general idea on whats happening, and then if something goes wrong we can decide to change.

Historically the first choice is the one that fills first, making server 1 a very risky server to "plan" on choosing if you want everyone to have adequate time to choose to move to server 1 during the time window.

If you remember, Cornelia was the first server to hit max capacity at the start of FFXIV's launch for that reason and gave the server full, choose another, from day one and onward.

Also if you want to be "CORNELIA" there would be no way to tell which of the 10 server's is Cornelia... sure its FF1 and the servers started in that pattern but some of the first 10 servers are not the 10 most populous (Wutai for instance) so you can't assume they'd name them to that schema. Its probably best to just choose a server you know won't fill up quickly so that everyone you want to play with can get in before it population locks.

For instance I could say Server 1 is going to be named Selbina because it has the #1 highest JP population right now (last time I saw a reading). Which would make Cornelia Server 4 if they decided to name from Top->Bottom populations (for that particular reading it was 4th, but may not be the case overall).


On another note about Yoshi's letter, its very interesting because that plan has a flaw in it because they want 10 servers but theres 18 worlds so they can only merge 9 times and allow 1 overflow server but that overflow server might have nearly no body at all... I think thats why they chose the decide your fate option to start with.

You have missed the point, we dont actually care what the server name will be, we are reffering to server 1 as cornelia server because we want to move there as "Cornelia".
We will use the new name of the server when it will be renamed.

Now about your concern of overflowing world 1, up until now there is nothing indicating that this will happen.
Everybody is thinking that world 1 is gonna be overpopulated so everybody choose to go on a different world, making world 1 a safe place to go for us.
Also if we make our intentions of going to world 1 known to other people, then they will choose a different world for them.
It's not that there are this many people playing the game in the first place and most of them have already decided on where to go.

Now all this planning might not even be needed cause Yoshi-P is thinking on changing to Plan 2 so we have to wait untill the week is over.
