    Consistent 90001/90002 Error Disconnects

    Hello,

I've been experiencing a huge quantity of consistent disconnects from the game (ie. 90001/90002) errors. I usually only experience this error when I'm completing a duty, raid, or dungeon.

    Some General Information:
    1. OS: Windows 7
    2. Error Codes: 90001/90002
    3. Wired Connection
    4. Other Programs Running: Discord, Steam, Google Chrome.
    5. Frequency: Sometimes every 15min, Sometimes every hour or two.

To resolve this issue I have:
    1. Taken the steps in this forum link: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ts-error-90002.
    2. Attempted to change the UPnP setting from 1 to 0.
    3. Tried WTFast and other VPNs.

I remember experiencing this issue back in Heavensward and my friend who played the game in the same apartment as me (same network) never had this issue. I'm starting to think that this may be an issue with my computer (ie. drivers, network card, power management, etc).

It is difficult to enjoy the game with constant disconnecting. Thanks for the help.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

When did this start happening? Did anything change or update on your PC that coincides with this?

What kind of computer are you using (laptop, desktop, etc.)? How is it connected to the internet? If you are using a wireless connection, try to use a wired one with an Ethernet cable.

Make sure that you anti-virus/firewall have the proper exceptions for Final Fantasy XIV.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

Q1: "When did this start happening? Did anything change or update on your PC that coincides with this?"
A: It happened very frequently when I played in HW. I bought Stormblood and started playing a week ago. It started happening roughly 5 days ago. Basically, there was no update or change to my PC. It basically happened as I started playing.

Q2: "What kind of computer are you using (laptop, desktop, etc.)? How is it connected to the internet? If you are using a wireless connection, try to use a wired one with an Ethernet cable."
    A: I use a wired connection and a desktop.

Q3: "Make sure that you anti-virus/firewall have the proper exceptions for Final Fantasy XIV."
A: I do not have a commercial anti-virus program. My firewall is disabled (and even if it was enabled, I have exceptions for FFXIV: ARR in my firewall).

Thanks for the help so far.

Thank you for the update MrPepper.

You may want to try resetting your router. Unplug the router and leave it like that for a few minutes. Then plug it back in.

You can also try a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game.

Make sure to not have any other programs running while playing the game.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

Don't know of any new updates that would caused it. It start think last week for Heaven on High. Last update my pc need was about 3 weeks ago and have firewall turned off and have ffxiv set to run through it. Have no security turned on and have no programs that use internet running when playing ffxiv. Use a cat6 cable. When start getting the lag its always close to boss fight in Heaven on High. When not in it have no lag problems at all only time do is when wind is blowing really strong but other day there was none when happened. I'm not sure but always seems to happen around same time each day. Around 6pm to 9pm pst when have lag spikes receiving shows on game jumps from 30 and below to over 16000.

Thank you for the update hynaku.

If you have satellite internet, it's a bit harder to get around disconnection errors unfortunately. Satellite internet sends information in packets. This kind of connection is not ideal for Final Fantasy XIV as it needs a consistent back and forth between you and the server, something that is much more difficult to achieve with a satellite connection.

I'm not a GM but I have noticed it only does this during peak times since HoH has been added, it was like this when PotD was added for a few weeks before it calmed down.
