    continual disconnects, error 90002

    Hi there

I'm based in Scotland and I'm playing on the Chaos Data Centre, Omega Server. I play on a PC running Windows 10.

For the last month, every day I am continually being hit with disconnections from the server, giving me a 90002 error. A quick Google search tells me I'm not the only one with this problem, yet I have seen no solution as of yet.

99% of the time, these disconnects occur when teleporting places, or when I zone into an instanced area. The biggest problem lies in the disconnect during instance zoning as my entire party manages to get in, but at times I'm left outside the instance. On my end I am still on the party list, but to everyone else I am not listed there. I am unable to communicate with the party through chat until they leave the instance.

I cannot see anything that might be causing these disconnects. I don't have this issue with any other games that I play online. I have tried turning off all background programs and still met with the same issue. I have even gone as far as to disable both my anti-virus and firewall and still get the same problem.

Reinstalling the game also did nothing.

Any other suggestions on what I could do to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated. This entire thing is incredibly frustrating to deal with now and I'm at a loss for what might be causing it.

You arnt the only one, download pingplotter (its a free trial) point it at 195.82.50.9 and leave it for about 12 hours, You are not the only one that have had these issues, and im betting its down to an issue with telia (an isp which our traffic in the uk goes through to get to chaos which is in frankfurt)

As I stated in my opening post...

I am playing on a PC running Windows 10

The error I receive is "Connection with the server was lost (90002"

I have swapped between wireless and a wired connection in an attempt to fix the problem, I get the problem through both.

I have every other program shut down on my PC while running and I still get this error. I have even gone as far as disabling my firewall and antivirus program and still get the same problem.

The frequency of this error is every day, several times a day (between 10 and 20 times a day)

I have tried re-installing the game, I have rebooted my router, swapped back to an old router, changed between wired and wireless connection, shut down every program on my PC, disabled firewall and antivirus.

My connection with the internet is consistent and stable

Thank you for the update pandorazellas.

Try some of the following and see if it helps alleviate the issue:

Open the Internet Explorer browser, open the "Tools", go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or to "Allow All Cookies"
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED. [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
    - Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
    - Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
    - Go to the "Compatibility" tab, and change the compatibility mode to "Windows 7"
    - Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
    - Please RESTART your PC now. Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"

Check the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that the following Port Ranges have been opened/forwarded/triggered:
    ▼TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

Your ISP may forward these ports for you.*

Try a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC. This will make sure that no background processes are interfering with the game.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!

    Me too

This is happening at least 3-4 times a day for me. and there are countless threads with similar issues. No other game has this issue for me, so Im pretty sure with the size of the pile of complaints and such that its not on our end of things.

Hello Noviandestroyer. Have you had a chance to try some of the suggestions listed above?

This error comes up every time someone is disconnected. As such, the reason for the error can be a little vague. Each of you experiencing this issue probably has it for a slightly different reason. If the above suggestions did not resolve your issue, let us know and we can try some more troubleshooting.

We hope we can be of assistance in helping you enjoy the exciting world of Final Fantasy XIV!
