    Connection lost in PvP when using gap closers - Trace route info @ Ariellendera

    I ran a trace route to "na.finalfantasyxiv.com" and the results were:

    I don't think that is the correct IP address for the NA FFXIV server.

    Try this IP address instead:

    204.2.229.97

    Your issues stems from SE's ISP.

    Sadly you can do nothing about it. The moderators will tell you ultimately that you need to contact your ISP. Go ahead and follow the moderators instructions whenever they reply to you, but know that this issue is on Square Enix's end and not yours.

    @Kerwin, this trace route is going to the North American Data Center but the OP is located in Europe. The spike in return time coincides with the jump from Europe to the US. Additionally, there is no packet loss in this trace route. Everything looks pretty normal considering the distance from the player and the Data Center.

    @LalaSoccer, you are connecting to the Goblin server, correct? The trace routes you provided do not show anything out of the ordinary if you are currently in Europe. Do you mind explaining the issue you are having? You posted your previous thread, but I'd like you to explain it in more detail so there is no confusion. Please also provide the following information:

    - Platform (PC, PS4, Mac)
    - Any error codes or messages you receive upon disconnect (if any)
    - Type of connection (wired or wireless)
    - Other programs running while the game is playing (if any)
    - Frequency at which error occurs
    - Everything you have tried to resolve the issue

    OP mentioned in his original tracerts he was connecting to the NA servers. The tracert runs through the problematic nodes that have been reported to your team multiples times already. Just because a tracerts was good this time does not mean it will not act up at a later time (prime time in the evening.)

    But you know that already.

    - Platform: PC (Steam)
    - Connection to server lost or something, don't remember
    - Wired
    - Chrome, Discord and Spotify
    - It happens like 20 - 30% of the time I use a gap closer in frontlines, mostly on Seal Rock
    - I've tried:
    I've tried the following things support has told me to do:
    - Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history
    - Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
    - Under the "Privacy" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or to "Allow All Cookies"
    - Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
    - Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED.
    - Changed the compatibility mode to Windows 7
    - Opened ports 54992 - 54994, 55006 - 55007 and 55021 - 55040
    - Running game as admin via Steam

    Thank you for the reply LalaSoccer.

    I'd suggest trying some of the following:

    -Reset your router by turning it off, leaving it off for a few minutes, then turning it back on.
    -Close all other programs while running the game.
    -Temporarily disable your Anti-Virus/Firewall to make sure it isn't interfering with the game.
    -Perform a clean boot. Simply open the task manager and select the 'Start up' Tab. Disable everything here and restart the PC.

    Hopefully one of these will help alleviate your issue.
