The constant booting off from Eureka

    https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...9153de83ab3608

I see the hotfix here supposedly fixed the NM priority, but would this help me from my constant booting off the instance? It got real bad these last 2 days. I was being booted at an alarming rate, it was almost unplayable. The sad part was I was a taxi for a low level player through some hazardous zones when I got booted off in the middle of the alligators. I had to get back on fast so I can save them. This happened twice with them on. Yesterday I was fortunate to get my 1st 2 Anemos weapons in the same instance despite all the booting. I would've been super pissed had I missed these opportunities due to this. I know I'm not the only one this happens to, because a few days ago, a fellow party member had the same issue. Was this at all addressed?

Probably not? The disconnects are due to clients and servers having a hard time keeping up with the giant mass of people all clumped together in the train. If your connection is struggling to handle that, this change won't do anything. The only thing that really would are netcode fixes (unlikely at this point), or giving people more reason to split up in Eureka so there are fewer people in one area. Staying to the outside of the train might help some too, but that can be really hard if you're melee.

I mean with chain exp increased the train has even more reason to die now. So maybe.

Not really. The level disparity causing loss of XP, lack of level sync, and unrewarding nature of chaining mobs vs the train is still there. Even the chain bonus was only on mob X, rather than on all of them during the chain, so it didn't really matter compared to the huge XP you get from the train.

Chaining mobs is simply unrewarding vs fighting NMs, and that disparity only grows as you gain levels. Subjectively, it's also boring as all hell.

Nope. Generally all hotfixes ever do for MMORPG's is patch exploits or bugs found since the last content update. Any time they change code on the server, the client needs the matching code for the client to interpret it.

Constant disconnects from the game are generally only one of three reasons:

    1) Your connection
    2) Your latency
    3) Your hardware

Your connection can only be improved by switching to fiber, and directly connecting via the Ethernet connection. WiFi will give you the worst connection reliability. Cable and DSL will give you worse latency depending on how your ISP has it configured. Generally cable is worse due to channel bonding than DSL, but even DSL's channel bonding will add latency as it requires buffering the connection on both sides. That's why I don't upgrade over the 25Mbit plan, as anything over 25 runs into channel bonded territory.

Your hardware is the other possibility. WiFi will always be unreliable, and more to the point, laptops have lower thermal limits, so WiFi in laptops tends to be even worse, as usually the WiFi dropping is a sign the laptop is too hot. In a desktop, the WiFi card may either be a PCIe card that has lots of cooling space, or a M.2 style card on the motherboard, or even built into the motherboard, which are laptop-style wireless parts, and have the same issues.

On SE's side, if there were constant disconnects, everyone in the zone would drop simultaneously. If the servers are being DDoS'd, the nobody would be able to stay online for more than a few minutes. Usually the evidence for what is actually happening tends to show up on the tech forum.

Unfortunately the help provided by the moderator is not really helpful, at best, the only right response they gave was the last one (#27), with the response in #6 having nothing to do with the game.

In http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-Center/page33 , "Regarding Reports on Recent Connection Problems with the NA Data Center" , you'll note the correct answer of "contact your ISP"

If you are getting disconnects you need your ISP to file a ticket with their upstream provider.

There is constant booting? hmm I maybe have had 1 DC every time I go in extremely rare though. Maybe it is based on the ISP or your bandwidth might be used by other devices, background on your on device, or people around your home perhaps?

I was getting 90k dcs and so much lag in all content in FF after upgrading my internet from cable to fiber.
Called my ISP and then they put my PS4 in DMZ, after that all my disconnections and lags problems disappeared.

When I was soloing, the EXP was increasing by 3% or so per chain with a large bonus on every tenth enemy.

It's still probably not better then BM farming, but if you can't contribute to a train and can find a nearby spot to do some hunting, might as well.
