IMO I still consider Ala Mhigan gear the most difficult to craft even over the new 3 star stuff.
Tayler has a thread with some very nice macros for the special 2 star recipes. Below is a modified version of mine:

These things are fully macro-able without Maker's Mark. But you just don't get very much quality out of the macros.
You need to use two HQ mats, and it'll bring the HQ rate to >90%.

Oh thanks Caimie, I can certainly give that a try. Personally I wouldn't actually macro anything 2 or 3 star, but would use the rotations, that and I always have at least 50% HQ materials so that shouldn't be a problem. Just good to have an alternative to the many steps of using Maker's Mark.

Not so much 3-Star stuff, primarily just for ease of 2-Star bits and pieces. Problem with above example is it sticks to the 473 CP base concept, so I'd end up having to butcher it (and have no idea how much would be lost/gained by the CON/CFT differences). In short, any CP efficient examples rather than ones that assume you have 473 CP - I don't have that, nor the experience (or spare materials) to just 'wing it'.

Example, I'd be throwing together things such as Silvergrace / Rhea Cloth (easy), Mhig-Fiber, maybe even the Mhigan Gatherer Set if the urge takes me, but nothing too drastic.

If you're talking about the normal 2 star (3543 Difficulty, 15837 Quality, 70 Durab), they were long resolved. You should have no problem macroing them.

If you're talking about the special 2 star (6377 Difficulty, 28506 Quality, 70 Durab), a.k.a. ala mhigan crafting gear i320 / snailfish oil / ala mhigan tools i325, these are actually harder than 3 star stuff.
That's why even with the existing macros of utilizing >470 CP, one still needs some HQ mats to safely HQ them. You can try to conserve CP by removing Innovation, or removing 1 Prudent Touch from the macro. It will reduce the power of the macro, but it will still work. Otherwise, I recommend you just manual craft these items with Maker's Mark. Then you have plenty of power to do it from zero HQ mats. After all, these are mostly final product. It's safer to do it manually. If this is Snailfish Oil, then you dont need it HQ anyway for the final product to go HQ.

Thanks, but again, they're all for max-CP. I'm looking to tone them down or even resort to MaMa if I have to. I only have a few bits to craft so I really don't want to have to re-shuffle my over-melds yet again for the sake of a few mats and a handful of wearables. I had more than enough gear/stats for everything and anything else I was primarily crafting, so it's not even for luxury sake really.

It sounds like you've gotten the answer to your original question which is that you need more CP. You just don't like the answer. If I'm doing a piece of Ala Mhigan gear by hand [from all NQ mats] and I do not have around 500 CP after the Maker's Mark phase then I get very concerned that I will not hit 100% HQ by the end. This is why I have melded 468 CP, and that I use a macro and 8000 starting mats quality, and Tempura HQ and Cunning Tea. This removes the RNG aspect which is the goal of repeatable HQ crafting.

Assuming your stats are the same as you posted earlier, this is the best you can do without RNG or MaMa:

This requires HQ Tempura, HQ Tea and all possible materials must be HQ. No way around that. But it will HQ Ala Mhigan with your stats.

MaMa is still your best option for power, as I mentioned before you can omit the Ingenuity I's in the quality phases and even the Innovation in the finisher if necessary to complete the craft with your current CP. Again however, you will definitely want HQ Tempura and HQ Tea.

No better answers than that and the ones you've been given. Ala Mhigan gear is currently the most difficult craft in the game. Good luck

Not a problem. Just tone it down according to your own CP amounts then! Easy, right?
Yeah, go use MaMa too! I always encourage people to start with MaMa rotations and craft stuff manually the first time.

Macros = massively crafting something = "I got so much stats that I can use the easy way to do things quickly"

Obviously, you're not loaded with stats, so macro things with a less powerful rotation + more HQ mats, or don't macro at all - use MaMa and manual-craft. Problem resolved!

Ugh, I just completed my 290 set last night and melded what materia I had. I am at 427 CP, and shy of the 1320,1220 to craft Ala Mhigan. I have some warriors stew I was going to use but then I wouldn't get the extra CP as all the macros recommend. I was thinking I am going to force myself to HQ most if not all of the base ingredients to craft the Ala Mhigan body parts until I can get high enough. I can safely HQ Zelkova logs and the 290 set without any HQ mats. So I am hoping if I can HQ the base ingredients for Ala Mhigan I can get enough quality to HQ the first couple of pieces.

This is my hope at least.

Always focus on maxing your CP. CP is king and allows you to have freedom to fix an unlucky set of actions.
