    New To Savage Content

So I'm able to get through Lakshmi EX and Susano EX fairly efficiently, and I now have my i320 weapon. My overall gear level is i319 atm, and I'm working on getting some melds going as I continue to upgrade gear. I think I'm ready to at least start O1S in the next couple days (maybe tonight even). Once I get one or two better pieces of gear, I plan on trying Shinryu EX, then O2S onward to O4S to keep building up.

As the title says, I'm still new-ish to the game and haven't done any savage content before. What I'd like to know is if there's any tips on preparing for Omega Savage from those who are more experienced in it. I should also mention that I usually try to watch videos/read guides before going into content I haven't done before, and I've also read up a fair amount on my job (RDM) and would like to think I've gotten pretty familiar with how to play the job at lv70. But it's nice to hear from other people's experience too, so any input would be greatly appreciated!

you've pretty much prepared all you can from what i can see, but just try to remember how the flow of the fight goes from watching the videos to know important points to watch out for like Clamp or Downburst in O1S or tentacles and the up/down stuff in O2S. Try your hand first at the training dummy outside of Rhalgr's Reach to see if you can clear it outright first and then jump into a learning party. good luck!

Usually the first turns of Omega are a faceroll nowdays, but only if the group is competent enough. Not elite, just competent. Do what Maxium said, go punch the dummy to see if you pass the DPS check.

-Make your PF with a clear goal: Learning party, first timer, first timers welcome, have watched a video, knows the basics, have time to spare.
-If you have coin to spare, get some food and stat potions if you want/can. Pots are not really mandatory nowdays but food for sure, it gives you extra HP which is always more than welcome.
-The vids and guides you're going to watch should be the ones based on your job's PoV. If you're setting a full learning group, learn the basics. Sometimes graphics like these:

    }

Along with the vids help. Only if you want to be FULLY prepared. Having a full overview of every mechanic is always useful. It won't make you clear, because you'll still need some field experience no matter how many guides or vids you watched.

-Ask people to get in with enough time to wipe over and over if you get a full group of newbies. Raid fights are longer than EX fights.
-Usually veterans jump in and are ready to give advice. Having them on Discord is always a plus.
-Be patient. Different to EX primals, raids tend to be a bit harder. So people will eventually f**k up and potentially lead to a wipe.

That's all the advice I can give you for now. Have fun! I am confident that you can clear the first turns tonight! just don't give up

i definitely recommend trying savage! i just started savage tier myself two weeks ago and cleared v1s in a matter of a few pulls, working on v2 now. all i can say is don't let anything hold you back from wanting to try something a little harder. granted, i've been playing since '15 so i'm very familiar with my skill level/how i am as a player, but really, don't doubt yourself. if you're like me and can't dedicate to a static tho, finding a good pf group can be challenging, either that or just run it with the fc. if you do take the pf route (like me lol), be sure to be very specific with what you're asking for, eg: "learning party from the beginning", "clear, pls know all mechs." etc etc. (even tho clear parties magically turn into learning ones all over again...) but it's good that you're utilising a tool already available, that being guides. i myself am guide watcher (not for everything, but for ex primals/savage, yeah) only bc it cuts back the learning and you are better prepared for what to expect, and possibly help others out too.

i started farming hw ex primals last year bc i wanted something more to do and with sb out now, after clearing two out of the three primals, you want something a little harder. i definitely find savage tier to be a good experience and quite exciting honestly? idk maybe bc i have something to look forward to like upgraded gear/the challenge. but i do hope you try it out, it can be a lot of fun!

You can start by looking up your main job's guides and then practice your rotations on the stone, sea, sky dummies outside of rhalgar's reach and see if you can beat the o1 and o2s dummy.

    SAVAAAGE!!!

You gonna die. A lot. But, with every death comes a lesson!

Learn why you died, and make sure you're ready for it the next time around! :3 That, is the secret to Savage. Videos and guides will give you an idea of what to expect, but you will really only know how to handle most of the stuff when they come flying at your face.

O1S is pretty straight forward, since you only need to check where the fire orbs appear, and make sure you don't get knocked back anywhere dangerous. But once you get to O2S you will see that there's a lot of stuff going on at the same time, and until you get a sense of what's coming up next, you'll probably end up messing up.

Don't worry though, everyone has their phase. If you want, just join a practice party and you'll be on your way to Exdeath in no time!

Welcome to Savage, my friend. I love seeing new folks willing to jump into the new content. Omega was my first piece of Savage content. I haven't quite conquered O4S yet, but I can tell you that if you are downing Shinryu EX without being carried, you are definitely ready for getting up to O3S, which Shinryu EX was implemented to help players get through. O1S and O2S aren't too bad, as they have a lot of the base mechanics from their normal fights. I took on O1S and O2S before any guides were up, so I think you'll be fine. Just join or create some learning parties and get used to the mechanics. It doesn't take long to reach farm status for those two.

O3S, I would definitely take some time to learn, because while the base mechanics from normal are there, it's so much different from her normal fight. Learning party, and do it one phase at a time. Don't try to knock the entire fight out in a single sitting, or even the first couple of tries. Focus on getting through the first phase consistently, and then work on the second phase. I have challenged this fight as a RDM, so here are my job tips for you: Learn where you need to stand at all times, and if you haven't already, learn how to optimize your DPS and weave in Embolden for both your Melee combos and helping your party while constantly being on the move. Learn to weave in Verraise at appropriate times if your healers need help with raising, while still putting out optimal DPS (i.e proc one of your Ver spells, then dualcast a raise, then use a Verfire/Verstone). Also be prepared to use LB3, because there's a phase in the fight where a ranged should ideally use the LB3 because that particular part is extremely punishing on healers.

We are on the same datacentre and I do weeklies on this. If you ever want to do a learning party, it would be my pleasure to start one so you can practice it.

Thanks for all the good info, everyone, and all the support too! I'm definitely prepared to die a lot lol. Didn't get to start last night because I joined in with a few of my FC members to do a Christmas photo op, but I mentioned starting savage and I know at least one person is interested in trying it out too with me! As far as those dummies go, I guess I need to do some quests to unlock those first, but that's definitely helpful to know.

Oh cool! Yeah, I'd love to have your help sometime! Do you have a Discord by any chance? Mine's crimsonchaos #3589 if you want to add me and coordinate plans. My work shifts tend to run a bit later, so I'm usually not on until about 9PM EST at the earliest most nights. But if that works for you, I think I could try to get started tonight.

I'll be able to raid on Friday (Thursdays are school nights for me), but I'm most active at night as I'm a graveyard worker. When I make it home, I'll add you on discord and we can talk from there
