    Wanting to start O1S

So I have never done the savage content before, other than the Fist of the Father during the relic phase for the light grind. By that point the instance was hardly a challenge anyway. The reason I am making this post is because I really like this round of raids and wanted to try to start doing the Savage mode for it, but before I jump in I wanted to ask a few things here. I had heard that this round was more forgiving than others and easier to get into, so would my RDM with creation gear mostly upgraded be able to complete at least O1S to get started or should I be looking to replace my gear with something before getting in there? There also doesn't seem to be any learning parties really left in the PF so is it also possible to use the Raid Finder to PUG this or will that lead to certain disaster?

You will be perfectly fine in 340 Creation gear or even 330; a lot of people first started clearing V1S in the 320 crafted gear, or even the 310 Verity gear or 320 Omega NM gear. So your Creation gear will be more than enough for it. Don’t worry about that.

If there aren’t any learning parties currently up in PF, don’t hesitate to make your own. If you just want to learn and don’t care about the number of coffers you receive upon a clear, a lot of veterans that have already cleared for the week won’t mind joining in on the PF and helping you out, myself included. I don’t know how fast RF queues are for V1S, because I’ve never queued into it that way before; it’s always been as a pre-made PF.

Item level 320+ gear is fine. If you're settled on RDM as your main, go for melds too. RF queues are probably inpossible, so start a practice party! If you're fine doing Rabanastre, you'll be fine in OS1 and OS2. Test your DPS with the SSS dummy to make sure your rotation is good enough. Good luck!

I have been doing Rabanstre a lot since it first came out, 24 man raids are my favorite content actually and particularly this one since I had just finished FFXII earlier this year. I have been parsed doing Rabanastre but unknowingly, so I am not sure how accurate they are but apparently I do ok since my parses are all at least above 50%, with my best at 86%.

You're fine. The main challenge is memorization, not gameplay. Death doesn't come to being overwhelmed, it comes from missing a dance step, so to speak. You do need to keep a hawk eye on which cardinal point you are, and learn the fight. If you have the actual mechanics down, it's forgiving on actual numbers. O2S is the same actually, though the mechanics there are trickier and less forgiving.

The advice of forming your own learning party is a good one. Don't hesitate to ask friends and FC-mates as well. At first practice and clear are more important then how many chests drop.

It's not that different than the one from normal omega 1. It's just without the floor indicators mostlikely and a little bit different on the mechanics. I would love to help you out, but sadly we aren't on the same data center. I wish you good luck

To be perfectly honest, OP, you'll find more problems in parse parties than you will for page runs. Even at 310, the fight is more than accessible enough to clear. The problem comes down to remembering the pretty easy mechanics - Susano EX has harder mechanics than O1S. As long as DPS don't die and they are outputting optimal damage, it's not a hard fight.

    *update*
I have run O1S with a nice group that joined me through the PF. We did pretty well and got him down to about 7% before hitting enrage. After the first few times I also managed to learn well enough to survive all the mechanics a few runs and do enough DPS to clear if some of our other members hadn't died. Than you guys for helping me get in there.

After getting 70 on my redmage last week, my guildies dragged me into it. I had ilvl 310 on average. Took a few pick ups for a learning run and got it down on the third and half attempt (third attempt had a weird bug that we still can't quite explain. Everyone dropped dead about 10 seconds into the fight). I think the tanks, one healer, and a DPS were 330+, the rest were 310-320.

Tricky part is the DPS staying alive long enough to get enough damage before enrage. One of the issues I had is the server handles movement when floor is iced, so there's a slight delay before the server processes the move. On the screen it will look perfect, but you die midslide despite being out of the telegraph even before it shows. So I had to pre-empt movements while iced and remember NOT to do it when its not iced. Jumped the gun twice and got blown up by moving in too early.

I think server processing movement in FFXIV has been the bane of many for the last 3 years. At least its predictable.
