    sure, can try.
Maybe when some people see the artworks on this thread they might like to join.
I have a pixiv account as well. http://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=1147678
That's a japanese art community site.

The problem with the tablet usage is common, it simply will take a while to get used to.
Try to see it more as a input device like your mouse.
also not being able to rotate the actual canvas like paper takes some time to get used too.
But in the end it is worth it because the digital media has much to offer.

You can only rotate the digital canvas, the one you see on the screen and that is not what i was talking about.
Try rotating your tablet, you will see that it it will make drawing nearly impossible, erg you have to get used to a different approach. Drawing with a tablet is different than drawing n paper.

Yeah, It drove me mad, since I was used to rotate the paper, so when I tried to rotate the table, as you say, it was impossible to draw.

Oh, yeah, by the way... I have some problems when coming into detailing, since everything ends up to be too "sketchy".

What do you usually do? A few long lines, or many short-connected ones?
I say it ends up to be too sketchy, since I usually do short lines, but when I have to connect them, I can't get it done well.
On the other hand, if I draw long lines, the overall result is much better, although it's harder for me to draw these sort of lines, since I have to ctrl+alt+z a few times until the line is exactly as I want it to be >.<

i use short strokes and i zoom in, this way i get clean linework.
Most of the time however i don't work with linework much, i paint directly.
If i were to make comics i would ink on paper and make quality scans.

Here is a demo video that shows a bit how i do the detailing of my paintings
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3A3hxC-cTVE

I soon plan to upload 2 tutorial videos that will show the complete process of drawing and coloring a character in a comic style, with line-work, cell style shading and all.

Yeah, short strokes and zooming in. That's what I try to do, just I can't get good results out of it.

    I'll upload now a W.I.P. I got around here.

PS: Also I have to say that I haven't been drawing that much, indeed, I started directly with digital painting, so yeah, I have no skills yet >.<

    >>THIS<< is what I'm currently working on.
I just "discovered" how to blend colors, so I put it into practice.

Any comments are welcome, but don't be too harsh, lol

PS: I uploaded it with the resolution I'm currently working.
What are you guys used to? Is it too low? Is it too high?

Oh yeah, I also suck at trying to apply a texture to something (as in the boots, the shirt), as well as doing the clothes folding and so on. Any tip?

    what a truely humbling thread!

I love to draw, and I am slowly getting better with the digital styles and techniques, even though I always have to start with pencil/paper first. As good as I thought i was getting, I am a huge amateur compared to the people I see here! Very impressive overall, and i hope this thread stays around.

I just recently made a deviantart (and will deffinitely track down all the people here) so here's my small "gallery" (slowly updating!) to anyone whos keen to check it out. A few FFXIV pieces in there, and lots to come in the future.

    http://shjcules.deviantart.com/gallery/

and now, my humble feedback! because it is all so good and I need to voice it or I will surely explode

@Randis, you are my new art hero. I love your works, and will definitely be subscribing to your tutorial vids, very cool stuff to watch , and can learn a lot. I especially like you FF themed pieces
@Lunae, some great traditional pieces! I am especially fond of the wishing well, that is magic at work. I am such crap at watercolor, that i respect it even more
@VigioX, those are some cute pieces, very clean and great colors!
@quantumsaint, I love the KWEW chocobo, it's like he's asking a question haha, much love for Vivi as well
@Azureos, I always love to see your stuff! so cleanly done, great posing and perfect perspectives
@Amalthea, I love your style and figure drawing skills. The coloring is some of the best traditional style I've seen! and I agree this thread makes me want to take some art classes lol sooo far to go
@Sigiria, you are too good. The first CG mithra is so intense, it is hard to look at, almost like she is looking back. The sketchy comics are great, even though I cannot understand them lol I just make up the dialogue.
and whoever perfect chaos is, I am now going to DA stalk him. Love those comics! his lalafell drawing skills are second to none!

sorry for the super long post, there was just too much great works here, and I hope it will continue to grow. Never knew I was playing this game with such talented and sexy people.
