See now not all people with these cards are having problems, which leads me to believe for some of you guys it's a hardware problem.

And there is a difference in the brand of card you buy. Zotac/XFX and a few others, it's best to buy their stock card as their cooling is and voltage regulation is not always there. Sure they may release a few good products, but they're mostly trash. MSI /ASUS / EVGA use a higher grade cooling system and components. MSI will tell you on their website that they're using military grade caps and VRMs, which these things do make a difference, especially in factory overclocked versions. Alot of the cards from the latter three have much better cooling,HQ components, and are usually speced to draw in a little more power than the others. My experience (and others) point to much more stable operation with these. An old ASUS 980 I had actually ran cool enough in some situations that the card would completely cut off the fans. Kinda freaked me out when I saw this, but this is a feature built into that card given the HSF on that is really good.

Except both FFXIV on customer support lines at least and Nvidia (who I have been working with and they were able to create the issue on their end), on top of that everyone going out at around the same time. I highly doubt it is my hardware. This does not happen on any other PC game I play.

Everything that is going on for this bug right now is internal only, i cant share anything other than we are still looking into it.

The game might not be detected in GFE due to the expansion, id have to check with the GFE team on that now.

I doubt that's the case. When looking around after suffering these problems myself recently, pretty much the only game that gets mentioned in significant volume where this complaint is concerned is Final Fantasy XIV, and usually all of the complaints are fairly consistent: That this is a problem that is only occurring with FFXIV in particular and does not tend to occur with other games that people run on their systems, especially after people have pursued almost every conceivable method of troubleshooting possible. What's even more perplexing is that these problems are occurring in greater frequency with newer updates whereas, beforehand, for those of us that have been playing since 2.0, we've hardly ever or never once suffered client/GPU crashes like this.

Think I've the same problem, which has started from last night, turning down graphics and returning to dx9 will delay the crash, but not stop it from happening. Monitor blacks out and GPU fan goes from slow to 100% speed suddenly. Temperature was mid 60Cs at worst. Occurs at both times of stress and doing minor things like checking retainers at an inn.

Are you really sure this happens to you in DX9 mode? It would be good information and something to add to the list and send to NVIDIA, definitely. Error report, screenshots, hardware info, anything.

Its still being tracked on our side, and we are working on getting more info from the developer now. Could be awhile before we narrow in on a fix unfortunately.
