Lol, it's still launch. Takes a couple of weeks at least before it starts to settle down. Hardly enough time to conclude with it being "a part of the normal game". You've probably never experienced an expansion launch before.

I left today... with all the cross server features the queues are just not worth it. Plus even non-xpac release Balmung is 1/2 afk anyway.
Just wait until after the 1st month then it will die down.
It was like this for 2.0 and 3.0 release.
A lot of people now are trying to burn through content and just up right quit until something new is released.
That's not an option. There are limits to how many simultaneous connections a single server can sustain no matter how much money you throw at it. Balmung and Gilgamesh reached those limits long ago and should have been locked then. The thing you aren't getting is that even if they could increase the server limit, it would inevitably just be reached again. There's a price for being on an overpopulated server, and you're paying it when you sit in a 3k person queue.I am talking about expanding individual server load. And on top of that, i briefly considered moving but they have Ragnarok listed as "normal server" and not congested. Normal server...with 3k queue. So i would have to pay to move. Give them more money for their incompetence.

How many men am I involved with? Well that depends... do you mean men as in males? Or just midlanders?
There is a 3K server queue that hardly moves because people never log out. AFK at the summon bell, crafting, market board.
Yea... I'm pretty sure the Login Queue and 90k Disconnections are now part of the game experience for the Balmung server. Would be nice if we could stop getting 90k'd from a PVP match though. How is it that I get 90k'd and other people on my team don't? Why is that only selected people on the Balmung server are getting disconnected? Is it server stress? Is it latency? Could someone that understand server networking please explain this to me? *STARES AT YOSHI-P, THE FFXIV DEVELOPMENT TEAM AND SQUARE ENIX INTENSELY*
Getting 90k'd while PVP'ing on a Congested World...
Epicness...

The trick is to spam "cancel" and re-enter.

Actually it can be. Considering they willingly accepted the money so people could transfer knowing well the server was full. Of course the people are to blame as well, but let's not pretend that SE is innocent here.If you don't want queues, transfer off Balmung. It's free right now if you go to a preferred server.
And no, "I shouldn't have to transfer" is not a valid reply. If you choose to play on the most overcrowded server, then you are choosing to accept queues. That's the nature of the beast. If your FC is there, convince them to go with you or decided which is more important to you.
It's not SE's fault that you're playing on the most overcrowded server. You have the opportunity to transfer off for free, so if you choose not to, that's entirely on you. Other NA servers are having no problems, so it's up to you to make the decision.
Well I often question why new people often join Balmung or any other already full populated servers despite knowing how full it is.
Ya they may have friends in real life that play on Balmung or the other full servers but a good amount of new players do not and are often attracted to high populated servers because there are more people in the servers.
It could be the desire to find easy pre-set up guilds or that there are more willing veteran players that may aid them as they advance.
However, most often I notice they don't really see the actual consequence of joining a high populated server until it is to late as the first day has shown with a bunch of people already quiting the game or moving to a different server in the game on 4.0 early access release because they could not join high populated servers like Balmung.
