Is queue time just a part of the normal game now?

Well I was giving thought to maybe transferring to Zalera pretty much all the houses in the mist are sold except couple small ones so I guess that option is out cause not going to give up the Medium house by the docks that I have currently to have no house or downgrade to smaller house. So I guess I will just wait it out until people as we all know will leave again, bringing the queue times down.

Personally would accepted the offer to transfer, even if I lose my FC. (which is the 2nd biggest reason I dont want to trasfer.)
But when my friends tried to transfer, they found out there is a 3 day wait period between each alt being transferred, and i dont want to take the chance of some/one of them not getting onto the server, due to a large number of people switching making it no longer the free server. (they are filling up fast compared to their numbers prior)

That's not correct. You can transfer all alts at the same time.

How would u go about this then?
When I tried, I saw no such offer, and it locked me out for 3 days after my 1st alt.
Same happened to my friends.

I can only assume some box somewhere needs to be checked, but didnt see it.

I was on Balmung since 2.1, when the server was a high population, but still wasn't locked. I moved off of it a month ago, before the incentives to move took place, as I knew what fresh hell it will be (and the server move causing serious lag didn't help either). I remember the queues at HW launch, and SB brought in even more people, and seeing as the server got closed off completely, I saw the signs. I paid to transfer off, established myself on a fairly smaller server. Now I don't even have a queue and am enjoying the game to the fullest. I left some friends there, sure. But my best friend followed me, so I have a buddy to play with. We're further in clearing stuff now than anyone we know as they have to fight a 3-4 hour queue each day to even get on and then if they disconnect, they can forget about playing that day. And I do feel for them, but we did offer them an opportunity to move with us, maybe even follow after the new incentives are up. A few days after early access launched, some of those people who were telling us to not move, that it's not gonna be an issue... moved. They couldn't take it anymore.

In all honesty, I didn't want to move either at first. Now I'm glad I did. It was the best decision in hindsight because I want to play the game, and not pay monthly to stare at the login screen for hours a day. All of the talk about long duty queues on smaller servers are moot with the new cross world DF, so there's nothing stopping you.

Edit: it's already starting to even out on malboro, DPS queue for me has been about 20 minutes. Like someone else said it will continue to even itself out, and yes you're on balming.

Lol, it's still launch. Takes a couple of weeks at least before it starts to settle down. Hardly enough time to conclude with it being "a part of the normal game". You've probably never experienced an expansion launch before.

I left today... with all the cross server features the queues are just not worth it. Plus even non-xpac release Balmung is 1/2 afk anyway.
