Sick of client crashes forcing me to re-queue

I never had issues with crashing before Stormblood, but now when the impact is the most painful it seems to happen at least once a play session. The client seems so fragile that if I do anything else while the game is running it's almost assured to crash. I'm afraid to touch anything.

• Checked a browser window to read up on a quest - crashed

• Opened bluetooth devices because my controller wasn't syncing - crashed

• Turning on my bluetooth headphones - crashed

• Tried to change default sound output device - crashed

• Spamming Raubahn for the MSQ - crashed

• Just randomly flying around in the expansion zones - crashed

If we're going to be forced to put up with buggy code, at least give us a grace period to log back in after it dies on us. Once you've put in your 2-3 hours of waiting in the queue you shouldn't have to do it again. This is completely unacceptable.

The client is fine, are you also playing on Maximum settings with the overpopulated instances too? Maybe lower your graphics because it sounds like your PC cannot do Maximum with that amount of people on your screen at the same time.

I crashed out of the login queue 3hrs in.
I'm really thinking it may be time just to transfer. Not sure how much longer I can deal with the congestion.

I have no problems here with check the web, email, youtube, etc while wating for que to pop.

My client is fine on my end though. Never even encountered a 22gb bug on my ps4 either.

The client is fine, are you also playing on Maximum settings with the overpopulated instances too? Maybe lower your graphics because it sounds like your PC cannot do Maximum with that amount of people on your screen at the same time.

I'm not having any issues running the game when it actually works. Performance hasn't been an issue at all. These are always DirectX errors in the client. I suppose I could stop running in DX11 mode, but that will just degrade my experience further.

It would just be a minor annoyance if they'd give us a grace period to log in again. That's really what's causing me the most grief. I had to play without any sound yesterday because the client doesn't recognize sound output device changes after it has started. Not even when I pair my bluetooth headset. Every other game I've played has handled that just fine. If I had a grace period I could fix it and log back in, but nope.

Same issue here. I was supposed to join a group for Susano/Lakshmi training but upon opening discord, fatal directx error. The problem can be triggered randomly when using Microsoft Edge, Chrome or VLC Media Player. The problems started to occur near the end of Heavensward, and I already did a clean install of Windows 10, which only reduced the number of crashes.

I was sent to the back of the queue with a crash again today, this time triggered just by turning off my headphones and nothing else. Something every other game I've played can seamlessly handle. If I'm careful not to touch anything on my PC while the game is running, it generally runs fine - but that kind of defeats the point of borderless window mode. I shouldn't have to be worried about getting stuck in another multi-hour queue because I want to switch my sound or view a link someone sent me.

This is such a poor user experience... I can't believe they would allow server queues like this without some kind of grace period.

MMOs really need to be able to allow people to use browsers and voice chat programs while playing and this one seems to crash regularly when trying to run anything else. So frustrating, and the queues make it far worse... >.<

You may want to actually seek help on the appropriate technical support forums.

That's not a common occurrence at all, that it's been happening to you a lot either means you need to repair your game or that maybe your graphics card is giving out. Does it happen with any other games? It's really weird that something like plugging out your headphones would crash it for you.
