Opened up the PC and took apart everything to clean out any dust bunnies, applied fresh thermal paste. So temperature shouldn't be an issue. Unfortunately, Windows 10 Home doesn't let me test older drivers (I wanted to try 16.3.2), as it always downloads 17.x.x.x through Windows Update. And yes, I've tried Registry tweaking and whatnot to try and stop the automatic download of newer drivers, they don't work anymore. I tried updating my Directx as well, for any missing components. Also did a fresh re-install of the game too. Ran CC Cleaner a couple times to ensure there weren't any registry issues.
It's frustrating, because this is the ONLY game that I play that will crash seemingly at random. Sometimes 10 minutes in, other times an hour+ in. I can play all my other games for hours on end with zero crashes and issues. Before I took my long break from this game, I never had crash issues.
I tried out DX9 mode and was able to play for a little bit. No crashes yet. But switching to DX9 is only a temporary fix, not a proper solution.
I have noticed, that after each 'Fatal Directx Error 11000002' crash, the Radeon drivers appear to become unresponsive too, most likely crashing as well. Either SE or AMD have an issue here that needs addressing.
