Fatal DirectX Error 11000002

Every since I tried running ff14 on directx11 I have been getting this 11000002 error and its really pissing me off. The error doesn't show up until I play a couple of hours in dungeons or if I sit in a city for 30mins. When I use directx11 my game runs really smooth. When I say I've tried everything...I mean i've tried everything. I've updated drivers, I've switched multiple things, I've disabled overlays, disabled the xbox gaming feature, and and last step was to do a clean install of windows. These are my specs: AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor, 16gb RAM, AMD Radeon R9 380 graphics, and Windows 10 64Bit. I contacted FF14 and they said they can't help computer related problems. Please HELP.

I'm running with the same graphics card and I can tell you that this is not computer related problem. Well, it is and it isn't. I started having this same problem after updating the windows 10 creator updates, and reason for the fatal dx error is somewhere in AMD drivers and new windows updates clashing.

When XIV introduced the dx11 support for the game, it took AMD around 9 months to fix their drivers so it doesn't crash with the game. Only fix right now is to run game in dx9 mode and hope AMD fixes this.

Same issue here. It just started for me yesterday after the server move. I crash at least once per hour. There seems to be no pattern as to why these crashes happen. Happened once in Alex, once in PoTD, once in the middle of a cut scene, and a few times just sitting around in Idyllshire.

The one thing that I have in common with you both is an AMD graphics card with the tonga gpu architecture, although mine is an older card. My specs: i7-4970k, 16gb Ram, AMD R9 285.

My sub ends in 6 days, so hopefully this is resolved before then, since crashing once per hour basically makes the game unplayable.

I've had a completely new card installed and it's still doing this, so it's definitely a problem on ffxiv's side. As for a fix? Nothing seems to work and my system gets hard locked so. I hope s-e will look into this because I'm not sure what to do at this point personally.

With the R9 270 card I couldn't run FF14 in the DX 11 as you rightly said the game would crash out, however, since upgrading my AMD card to an RX 580 4gb I can run DX 11 mode perfectly with no crashes. The problem is in the legacy drivers for AMD

Yes, I've been getting these occasionally too and I don't even have Windows 10, still running 7 on my rig.

That's a bummer. I wonder what the problem is at this point. I did a factory reset, removed my card, reinstalled it, everything's been re-downloaded and it's still happening... yet every other game still plays fine, so. At this point it's definitely a game client program, at least for me.

Exactly my thoughts as well. I play plenty of other DX11 games and the only one giving me "Fatal DirectX Error" is FFXIV, so my bets are on poor programming in their DX11 client.

And it did this on DX9 so. I have no idea what is left to do anymore at this point. I should not have this much trouble with an official client.
