16.11.5 driver used to fix it for me, but now even the older driver crashes on me
this issue been around for a long time, might aswell upgrade gpu
This bug has been around since 2015. Squeenix doesn't give a sh!t about it.
Oh, and yes, i've been dealing with it since then as well. Tried everything, the problem seems to have subsided when I installed the Radeon 16.3.2 drivers, but it seems to be back in force in stormblood (crached 3 times today in the span of 1 hour).
No other game is giving me any trouble.AMD Radeon R9 380
Intel Core i5 2500K
16GB DDR3-1333
Windows 7 x64 SP1 Ultimate

This has been an off and on again issue for me as well. Started in October, cleared up for a couple of months, and has begun again as of 3.5x for me.
System:
Windows 7 64bit Full updates
AMD FX-8370 4.0 GHz 8 Core
Radeon R9-380 4gb Asus Strix Version
16gb Ram
1.8TB free on game hard drive
24GB free on Windows drive
Have tried:
Reinstalling the game
Reinstalling drivers - clean and otherwise
Rolling the drivers back
Lowering settings to Laptop - low
Running settings at Maximum
Have managed to recreate the issue in the Stormblood Benchmark as well 3 out of 4 runs this evening.
Excuse me for saying it this way, but this is getting tiresome.
I am running the following games using the same system and configurations
Elite Dangerous - Directx 11 - 0 crashes / issues
Conan Exiles - Directx 11 - 0 Crashes / Issues
Space Engineers - DirectX 11 - 0 Crashes / Issues
Kindly advise whether this is being considered for repairs or if the emphasis is to continue providing Directx 9 support.
I don't see the point in upgrading to a new gpu if others who have done that keep having the same problem. I'm only able to play with dx9 since 11 keeps crashing more often. Tried to use an older amd driver which worked for a few hours but then it started to crash on me.
This particular issue (the recurring and apparently unfixable kind) is almost entirely exclusive to either the R9 380 or possibly the Tonga chipset it uses (which is only in a few cards). You can certainly get Dx11 errors with other cards but they seem to be more one off issues that can be resolved. If you look up this error a VAST majority of the users experiencing it have an R9 380 so I think it's VERY likely that a new GPU would resolve the issue. It would be nice if SE just fixed the issue or at least communicated with us about it so folks could make an informed decision on whether or not its worth upgrading only for FFXIV since most folks seem to have issues only for FFXIV.I don't see the point in upgrading to a new gpu if others who have done that keep having the same problem. Can confirm this driver doesn't work. If it did it in the past it doesn't anymore. Crashed immediately after loading into the game with the same error. Issue has been ongoing since 2015 I understand. No word from AMD or SE on this issue at all so I assume at this point they don't care. We're probably a very small portion of the player base and they've probably written us off. Either we will switch to use DX9 (like I have), upgraded to a newer gpu, or quit. Sadly those are our only options at this point and likely the only options we will ever have.
I crash on DX9 as well, not really a solution for me.
Same here. DX9 will recover but then the game runs under 10 fps and I have to relog. None of the solutions I've found worked for me.
Windows 10 Build 10240
AMD Ryzen 7 1700 Eight-Core Processor
R9 270x GPU
16gb LPX Ram
500gb SSD
Path of Exile -Elder Scrolls Online -Nier Automata - PlayerUnkowns - all run perfectly fine.
I am also having this issued. Borrowed parts to see if I could troubleshoot it. It does it on my computer with a 1080ti, a 1080 and a 970. Everything is updated including drivers. Reinstalled FFXIV as well, still nothing. I get it about once every 30 minutes. Does not seem to happen on any other game I play.

Updated my driver chipset (no idea if that would help) so far i played about an hour then crashed. Restarted and no crash so far but its about to be an hour again so xD guess we'll see where it goes. It doesnt make any sense D= if i set it to dx9 there's more fps issues then when i play on dx11 which is why i must play it on 11. I can't stand it when the fps drops down to the 20's. With dx11 i have no such issues other than crashing ._.;;; Update: Just crashed lol
